A jerky but legible hand SEEKER REPORT: vampire in Dark Canal / Wet CavesAlturiak 1373 DR
While scouting the northern end of the Dark Canal, I met with what can only be tagged as a vampire. She was about human size, deadpale skin, the usual. She was headed toward the Wet Caves. No matter the shadows, I knew she peeped me. Her gawk dried my mouth, but nothing else. I figure she meant for more, but when I started backing away, she stuck me with her spear. I downed a chickenjuice + hustled bloody toward the Wet Caves. She tailed me about a mile before I finally shook her at the troglodyte camp.
Travelers in the Canal area + particularly the Wet Caves should stay sharp. This isn’t a shambler or a pile of creaky bones – vampires are dedicated hunters.

Given the direction she seemed headed, the Seekers consider this vampire a threat to Sanctuary + surrounding areas.
delivered to the Council, Watch, Spellguard + Tigereyes
Seeker, is this vampire in any way linked to the one that attacked Sanctuary some months ago?
I'd like more details so the Council can determine how to respond. I expect the Seekers will look very good if this is handled wisely.

Councilor:
I will check with our archivist + find out. I'm less concerned about making us look pretty than I am about the common safety.
Wisdom comes from responding to these sorts of reports - to date, you're the first of any to nod reading it. Perhaps this report wasn't a waste of my time.

M, Glad to hear you survuved this encounter with no reprocussions to your health. I've not dealt with vampires in the past, but I've read a lil lore on them. This could indeed be trouble. Have you a description of this vampire? And, if so, will it hold up for identifying it. That is to say, does their form change at all in their human form?

*Copies are sent to the Watch (c/o Pvt. Lockwood), Tigereyes (c/o Mordur) + the Council.*
Our archivist found no record of 'my' vamp. In 'human' form, she's roughly my height, has jawlength cinder hair, deadpale skin + pointy teeth. As a mist, she flickers. I don't recall her ever just appearing - there's always a mist first.
