*A letter for Kata at the Rock Bottom*

*and hand-delivered by a young boy, apologizing for the late delivery. He slept in.*

To: Kata Trevail From: Quadra F. Pirillithis

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My dearest Kata,
We were together only yesterday, but it seems like an eternity seperates us now. Ever since I was forced from your arms by the ineffable threads of fate, I have been more enraptured by the thought of you than I ever have been before. It is in times of such epiphanious reflection as this that my mind strays to fonder things, for how could any but the sweetest dreams come from the mere idea of you?
I found a very beautiful place today. It's a little spot somewhere above Sanctuary, and a little to the east. It looks a little more well-travelled than I would have thought, but it's still so peaceful and free. At times, it's like I can feel the sun again. Someday we'll have to have a picnic here; I'll be sure to let somebody else prepare our meal though, just to make sure nothing goes astray.
Concerning the unfortunate business at hand: From the bottom of my heart, I apologize. I know that you're feeling frightened, and possibly alone. I assure you that you are not. You have your sisters, Kata; never forget that. And, wherever you may go, and no matter what you do, I swear by the gods that I will be with you. My oath is the wind that carries the wings of my heart to you, over any mountain and through any storm. I weep now, but these tears belong to joy, for I know in my heart that you will be well.
Someday, when all of this is over, and we're finally together and out of sanctuary, I think it would be nice to find a little cottage with a white picket fence. Tell me; would you enjoy that, or did you have something else in mind? I'll be honest, Kata; that's always been a dream of mine, but a short while ago I found a much sweeter one. You and I, together, anywhere. Trust me; we'll get there. Dream with me.
I look forward to seeing you again, sweetheart. Each moment that passes away from you is bittersweet anticipation of your kiss. I almost find myself hoping you feel the same. If you do, please don't worry; this too shall pass, and when the ineffable threads of fate tie us together once more, it will be all the sweeter for times like this. Live a life of joy, and know that I will always be there to share it with you, even if I'm not.
I love you, Kata.
P.S. Kelemvor totally let me in, and you'll never guess who I saw! Don't worry, Leslie and I are just friends now. Sorta. It's kinda complicated. We'll talk next time I see you!
P.P.S. The milk here is great.
A numb, blank faced Kata collects the Letter from Spencer. She sits heavily at a table, Shauna beside her, and reads it.
Her face cracks suddenly, and she buries her head in her hands, racked with uncontrollable sobs.
