Redoing Quests and Associated OOC Knowledge

Since the creation of my current character I've become aware that some questgivers don't actually give you any informations regarding the quest itself.

For instance, not once does the The Captain tell you they have rat problems in the sewers, let alone that these rats are special (unless one's already in a party that meets the requirements). Now, the second you have done this quest you know what it's about, thus there are no surprises when you next go through it (barring Dimine Intervention). This OOC knowledge is quite easily ignored, which is all well and good.

However, when one makes a sending or a general request for someone to assist in, for instance, the Chosen quest, does it make any IC sense to state what you'll be dealing with? I've personally been playing ignorant when it comes to these quests, but I'm unsure whether or not we can allow ourselves to know.

Also, what's the price of rice in China on a Tuesday?

From personal experiences, i think it's a fine balance. Tell them what the NPC would have told you, and you're on a winner. If that's not enough, maybe add a further 'clue' what the quest's all about so people don't turn up to try and attempt it needlessly.

Since the Captain explains that the issue is "rats that walk like men" that need enchanted weapons to fight properly if you take the quest, it is perfectly fine to assume that if questioned he would tell you what the problem is when initially inquiring about the quest.

Thus so with most quests, just use your common sense.
