The rats in the sewers are giving out perhaps more experience than necessary to make that quest worthwhile. You can get 13 -18 XP per fat or dire rat, plus 5 more for each one on quest completion, and they spawn eternally. Seems like a little much to me.
EDIT = That amount of experience is for solo adventurers or pairs. Maybe some kind of system where a slightly larger party yields the best experience would be good, as well, to foster player interaction. Four or so?

Another suggestion: On completion, let everyone in the party take their share of the end exp, so there is a point to having one person collect.

Also, maybe a timer or a cap for this quest? I know you DMs are around and will stop hoarding players. But if it's repeatable like this, there is no stoping the lamers when you're not looking!

The neverending spawns really futzed with dm interaction last night, although it was damn funny running from a stampede of some 20 or so rats, most of which spawned from a place i already killed some at.

Sounds like somebody needs to find our random-encounter-disabling widget. ;)
