I write to you, Agent, as it is my understanding that you were formerly one of the so-called Spellguard Associates. I have neither seen, nor heard much of this faction lately, and as I know of no other former members, save two (whom I doubt would be much help), I have decided to contact you.
I wish to inquire into the the actual point of these Associates; what they do; why; and, finally, how one goes about with becoming one.
Whether or not you're the right entity to contact, I am unsure of, and should it turn out that you're not, accept my deepest apologies for bothering you with such trivial matters as this. If this should be the case, however, I would greatly appreciate if you could direct my attention towards someone that would indeed be able to help me.
I am currently a resident of the Rock Bottom Tavern.
Thanks in advance.

A reply is sent back to the Rock Bottom Inn, and it is written in an elegant handwriting.
Alturiak the 18th, Year 151, 1373 of Dale Reckoning.
Aseir Greycastle,
my apologies for my late reply; it seems to letter has been lost in the immer-growing amount of paperwork we currently have.
Yes, it is true that I am a former participant of the Spellguard Associates. The Spellguard Associates are a program set up by the Spellguard, as a faction to help them with their various duties; Mostly providing the safety for Sanctuary's citizens. Often, there are two reasons to join this organization (either seperate, or combined): One is very keen on doing his duty, to keep Sanctuary safe, and/ or one is interested in joining the Spellguard organization. Generally, being a succesful participant is looked favourably upon, when one wishes to join the Spellguard ranks.
One should contact either Operative Delgado, at the Spellguard Tower, and/ or Lieutenant Balesmaan, whom resides in the Rock Bottom Inn, for further inquiry.
If one does decide to join the program, one will be assessed for certain qualities one may add, and if this person can show loyalty.
In hopes of having informed you,
