Damm Straight {what a crap printscreen my apologies}
The Shorts...a Clan of Hins
Those are all monks of the hin fist!?
Who'd have thought that group of hallfings were all hins!?
XD
Missing the most Magnificent hin in Sanctuary, sorry 8)
*sighs* Halflings.
*shakes his head and walks away*
The fact that the halfling skin equiped is called "hin skin" does'nt help matters much. Very misleading as to their true name (halfling) when I'm sure it was just for easy coding. (halfling skin being harder to type than hin skin)
Naga Who'd have thought that group of hallfings were all hins!?XD
I think 'hin' is being used as often - if not more - as 'kin' is being used by dwarves... as in, all the time. :)
I'm not sure how hin can be used correctly but I'm pretty sure its when one halfling speaks to another or when somebody is refering to a halfling monk of the hin fist.
That link doesn't include what the FRCS says:
The strongheart halflings refer to themselves as 'hin' and see themselves as full people - not half anything.
This is annoying... I created that Clan 2 weeks ago... :(
And now i'm the House maid.
Snowy That link doesn't include what the FRCS says:The strongheart halflings refer to themselves as 'hin' and see themselves as full people - not half anything.
That does'nt mean the are not HALFLINGS. They are refered to be all other races as halflings. I remember on a certain other server a dm said "I'm going to dm kill the next person I see saying hin instead of halfling" That sort of thing will train you not to ever use it XD
I'm happy either way. Hin is perfectly acceptable. It's in the FR sourcebooks and indeed, the Strongheart halflings HATE being thought of as half-anythings :)
But in order to hate being called halfling you have to lose 1 point of your saving throw!
Pffftt..
Hin rights!!!
Thanks for posting this Gruff. Just wish we had that many halflings on all the time. ----
My hin (sticks his tongue out) is of the tallfellows group having a grandmother who was elven. I still refer to myself as a hin and my character finds it insulting to be called a halfling. However he takes both terms with a grain of salt because he also understands that not all races would see how the term halfing can be insulting.
As far as the 'hin fist' thing, I think that was more of term applied for a certain group. just like the 'boots of the sun soul' should only be able to be worn by followers of the Morninglord.
And as far as that DM on some other server not liking the hin term, that was personal preference and should not be applied on this server.
Halfings hins here all the same when you kill em
Just like all meat-bags end up the when you get sneak attacked by 3 out of 4 of the hins that are attacking you :D
Hamstringers AWAAAAYYYY!
