The 1.67 patch fixed Weapon Finese to work with creature weapons.

Due to this, the rats in the sewers are fierce to an extreme measure.

They can beat the hell out of Mandarin at level 8 in full plate if he gets in a group of five or six with good rolls. Not a problem for me because Mandarin still could whoop them--but I can't see how level 2-5 PCs doing that quest can survive at all let alone level 2s just trying to get to Sewer Town.

I noticed this today on a DM quest. I mean, they're just rats. Even the meanest rats probably couldn't kill an adult. Maybe give them fewer hit points?

Fewer hit points was a thing that popped to my mind as well. How hard is it to smash a rat? Maybe dire rat gives some challenge, but small whining rat. :)

AB is fine at the moment, otherwise full-plate towershield combination can hunt rats too easily.

Seriously, though - removing Weapon Finesse or dexterity would be really nice.

pffffh one arrow for me kills even a dire rat. plus with animal appathy....I just stand back and watch them kill each other! :D

rangers and druids rock when it comes to fighting animals! but I guess removing these things would make life easier on the poor souls who do not have the skill my elf ranger does.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not but I found the rats in the Crazy Jane quest to be a little difficult as well yesterday can't say if it was more difficult than usual or not. Have discovered barskin though now...so I might actually make it above level three. Wow I love those potions!

Sewer rats have ALOT higher hp than regular dire rats, roughly 35 hp I think. Fat rats have like 25

What he's trying to say is the skill is "animal EMPATHY" not "Animal Control 5ki11's"

If you would let an animal tear each other apart then you don't HAVE any animal empathy. Thus you should'nt be able to use the skill. You sound like your roleplaying it as if you just cast "dominate animal"

well the way I ACTUALLY RP this is I tame one of the animals with my animal empathy and have the animal help me fight any other enemies. If the animal survives the battle I often heal it afterwards if I can and keep it alive for as long as I can keep control over the animal. What I was saying before was more in a joking manner...I really am an animal lover. why do you think I play as a ranger? :D

Their AB should be decreased a bit now (as of v601).
