Music to my ears

As many of you may know I am trying to role play a successful bard on the server(Sandra Marie). To do this properly, I need your help! :D Every day im wondering to myself..."what can i write songs about for the server?" "What would adventurers like?" I need to know what kind of songs your characters (icly) would respond to or like to hear. Subjects, feelings, quests, adventures...anything! Give me a hand and let me know what your characters are into and what songs make them tick, cause even in another world music makes the world go round. Please take this post seriously (unless you want a funny song i guess:P) because its important to me to please you ^^ Thanks all! I look forward to your ideas

I think IC, I had mentioned a type before. Now, I can't say anyone else wants to hear it. I want to hear about the above. Sun, the green hills, forests, etc. I also would like to be able to request a romantic ballad at a certain time.

Quadra favours soft, upbeat melodies about pretty things like flowers and kittens and love. My new character will enjoy chanting and other religious ritual music.

Mene would favor something from her heritage (elvish). Celtic style music would fit perfectly.

When I come back to EfU in a few weeks I am planning on making an elven bard and using Galic lyrics for elven songs. Should be fun...just do not ask me to translate my CD's give the words but do not translate (I wish they would)

Im working on quite a few about the surface, thuogh none TOO upbeat yet because thats just the main style of the artist. Romance i can definitely do, especially if you want to give me some specifics for inspiration for the song :) im int he process of writing somemore upbeat ballads though I have quite a few dark ones already considering the circumstances they all are currently living and the darkness that surrounds them which i can only imagine the characters must feel, especially the elves etc without the sun, moon, or woods.

first of all you're only allowed to please me =p secondly i demand more dark angsty music, along with other melodies. Either way you know i'd like to see you put a spin on the typical bard class, and not just play the average bar wench singing about booze and happiness.

Though I will point out most folks probaly won't want to hear about the sad things, and would prefer other, more happier melodies to escape their painful pasts...but I still support the thought of a -dark poet- approach, just because itd be a bit more interesting, in my humble opinion.

either way you're doing everything fine, and I enjoy rping with your character, of course.

Love ya.

Sing about Jacob Geigne's dreadlocks. A song per dreadlock. Describe each one with intimate detail.

Brinda would love to hear anything to do with ...rats, of course.

No offence or anything but some of these seem a bit silly. Is this what you think actual people would want to hear songs about? I mean i really like cookies...but i doubt id much appreciate the artistic value of a song about them because its emotionless in a sense whch really makes it more of a nursery rhyme kind of thing, and im going for more like a musician and professional performer like youd see nowadays kind of thing...with other stuff thrown in of course but still. Im trying to take the charcter seriously :) no offence to anyone or anything but does anyone have any more deeper thoughts perhaps?

This is what the public has said they want. I'm pretty sure that since that's what you asked for, that's what you'll get. ^_^; Now, on the other hand, if you want to project a preset ideal of what you think they want onto their given opinions and make the music your own, then maybe you'll find something both parties can enjoy.

PrettyHateMachine ...im going for more like a musician and professional performer like youd see nowadays kind of thing...

In that case, tits and ass. Lots of songs about lots of tits and lots of ass.

therell be some mature content probably but i dont mean todays hip hop bullshit -.- not by any means, hehe

oh i dont know, you could always get Delgado and Michael rapping...

Hehe, alright I'll give a serious response.

Some songs about the surface. Praising it? Demeaning it? Sing about the lands of Thay, Cormyr, the forests of Cormanthor...

Heh, there's a reason there aren't a lot of bards on EfU: Coming up with songs on the fly is damn hard. If you can get away with alt-tabbing, I highly recommend writing and formatting them in Microsoft Word and then copy/pasting the lyrics during the performance.

Considering most performances in Sanctuary seem to take place in taverns, I highly recommend adding a few drinking songs to Sandra's arsenal. Drinking songs are meant to be sung along to, so they tend to have short verses to keep the audience's attention and a catchy chorus.

Talia grew up by a port, so most of her songs are sea shanties, dirty limericks and naughty morality tales. She's had multiple requests for songs about dragons, so she started perfoming those as well recently. She also had a rather refined upbringing, so she knows a few Elvish songs that she plays for private audiences.

I think incorporating Sandra's background into her music will really help add depth to both her personality and songs. If she's the adventurous, proud type, work in some personal exploits into her tales. Personally, I'd love to see more bards honoring the heroes of Sanctuary.

Hope this helps. If you want, feel free to PM me either in game or through the forums if you need more inspiration. Long live PC bards, the hardest working players on EfU!

Write a song about Blanca the Magnificent
