Damn that's heavy!

Last night I picked up a female corpse, and it turned out she weighed 755 or so pounds! I think she was an elf too, so she shouldn't weigh that much if you ask me!

I looked at this some more and it *looks* like that the more gear the person was carrying, the heavier the corpse. Which makes no sense since the gear has it's own weight.

I saw corpses that were 115 lbs, 317 lbs, and the above 755 lbs.

It's just weird.

700 pounds sounds way too heavy, however the reason the weights fluctuate is because the weight of the equipped items on the corpse is factored in. That is, if you don't intentionally remove the armor/weapons from the body of the dead guy (and if he was using them), the corpse will be that much heavier.

By the looks of it, fluctuating weight kind of works. Perhaps cap it at a certain value to stop it becoming "stupid". 300 or so on for example and see how it goes from there.

Nifty.

Is there a way to keep changing the weight of the corpse as you remove items though? If anything, I agree with what Fish said. :)

I removed items from the corpse and still had a 675 pound corpse.

I've disabled the "carrying weight" that gets added to corpses based on their items for now, because our system doesn't presently adjust the weight of the corpse when items are stripped off the dead body.

This isn't the best solution, but it's a step in the right direction, and should make things easier until we get it set up to be adjusting properly.
