A letter to Private Edrelsworth

Such an interesting twist we put on things. The hin sent a messege via citizen stone openly admitting that he had engauged in a criminal act and that he would be in the Rock Bottom Inn. Not a single Watchman seemed to have a problem with this. Seeing as how the sewers seem a juristiction closer to our own, I persued this character. When he would not comply with my request we managed to wake up your posted guard. He was even minded enough to see that the man had commited a crime and detained him. The guard in question couldnt get me out of there quick enough and made no request to see me in the near future. In fact, he demanded that I leave. The unwillingness of the Watch to consider us a part of the guarding factions of Sanctuary grow tiresome. These childish games do nothing but encumber the movement to make Sanctuary a safe refuge for all its citizens. I had no intention of encroaching on Watch territory. I was in upper at the time of the sending and persued it due to the fact that the incident was in my juristiction. I had hoped that the Watch could see beyond foolish differences when a man's life lay in the balance. Regardless, if you actually read the warrants and notices that find there way into your barracks you would clearly understand the current status of the situation.

- Mordur of the Tigereye Mercenaries

In reference to:

Our private stationed in the Rock Bottom had to quell a disturbance when the mercenary in question attempted to act outside his jurisdiction. After he was dealt with, we were able to apprehend the halfling, who served time for robbery. Despite his claims that he would search for the would-be murderer, the Tigereye never reported back and when we sent a courier down to the Tigereye Fortress, we were rudely informed by your Captain that the Tigereyes weren't interested in cooperating with our investigation.

A reply is delivered by courier to the Tigereye Fortress.

Merc "Mordur",

I was there and told you to report back with the real criminal in tow, and you never did. You didn't do a damn thing and your report shows it. You didn't even pretend to go after the real threat to Sanctuary's people until I explicitly ordered you to, and your gross negligence won't be quickly forgotten. Your lies do little to cover up your brash attempt at arrogation. The Watch had the situation under control until you barged in and began making a scene, rather that attempting to handle the core cause of the trouble that lay within your jurisdiction -- as I was expecting the mercenaries hired to keep order in Lower Sanctuary to do. Rather than carrying out your duties, you instead chose to harass the good people of Upper Sanctuary, who view your company as being made up of nothing but traitors and criminals -- with good reason, if I might add, as noted in the latest missive on that circular which you apparently hold in such high regard, despite rarely bothering to make proper use of.

I will report your shocking lies to my superiors and get them on your case if that is your wish, but frankly I think that you'd be better off if you just went and caught the damn mugger like I told you to do in the first place.

Don't write back. If you want to spend more of your energy whining and spewing lies, you can address your complaints to Sergeant Sheps.
