I highly doubt any D&D supplement covers this, so I thought I'd toss it out to the DMs: Being a highly magical setting, are there supernatural forms of birth control? Adventurers tend to be a rather non-conformist bunch, and they seem to go at it like rabbits but rarely end up pregnant. Are they imbibing the magical equivalent of birth control pills, have bards come up with a cantrip to carry on with their merry ways, or is seeking out members of your own sex the only sure fire way to avoid the worst STD of them all?
It's a silly question, I know, but one that has a great influence on the unconventional life style of adventurers.
By the way, I love this new forum. Hopefully my incessent questions won't make you rue the day you ever created it.

There are methods of birth control available canonically I believe, but while I'm on the subject I will say that the role-playing of explicit sexual acts is completely forbidden and totally unacceptable (for a variety of reasons, both for reasons of server design and very serious legal concerns).

Haha, don't worry, I've always been a firm believer in a tasteful fade to black. I just keep seeing adventurers shack up, and it peeked my curiousity.
Thanks for humoring me, Howland.

This is touched on in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting sourcebook, actually, on page 96. The seeds of the "cassil" shrub can be ground into a fine powder that suppresses male fertility for 3d4 days when ingested, and the root of the black "nararoot" tuber can be brewed into a strong tea that renders a woman infertile for 1d4 + 2 days. The example use, and the only appropriate use that I can think of, is that of a disloyal courtier or evil vizier attempting to prevent the conception of a royal heir. Since Sanctuary doesn't have much in the way of hereditary nobility, there hasn't been a pressing reason for us to develop Underdark versions of the surface herbs mentioned above.
As Howland mentioned, there's really very little reason for this to become an issue in-game.
