I play a kobold character, and one of the things that bugs me the most is that while he has the extra -2 str, -2 con from the monster manuel, he doesn't have the +1 Natural Armor that makes kobolds a plausible race for PCs. Maybe +1 natural armor could be attached to the same script that makes gives the character the kobold model?
Natural Armor for Kobolds?
He has the dodge feat, which stacks with other feats and types of armor. So the armor bonus is there.
We could attack +1 AC (deflection) onto the subrace hide, but then it wouldn't stack with common items like the rings of deflection or lots and lots of spells.
Unfortunately in the toolset AC types appear to be hard-coded in, and the only AC type you can give subrace hides is deflection.
Er all small races get +1 ac vs all creatures in nwn for the record. It doe'snt show on character sheet but I've tested it (against ALL size catagories) it works.

I know, but Kobolds have +1 natural armor in addition to +1 for being small.

Really? I didn't realize that.

That's a problem alright. Another idea might be to give kobolds a free piece of equipment that provides +1 NA that can't be sold, stolen, dropped, etc. But then there's the limited equipment space issue. I'm not very familier with the Toolset, but would it be possible to script an item that added +1 NA to someone just by having it in the inventory?

Basically, this isn't a huge issue, because if you are overly concerned about being good statistics-wise, kobolds and goblins are really the wrong subraces to play. They are very much designed to be weak.
Will you people knock it off calling Kobolds weak already? Sure, their statistics may be lower than average, but they are not weak at all, when you know how to play with them. Krushen Yellowfang's power easely surprised me, each time again, and when I recall how I managed to make a level 6 Barbarian flee, with my 4 Rogue/ 2 Sorcerer build, I can only think that statistics don't matter one bit.
Ultimately, the Barbarian got back on me though, but that's a different story!
(To the Barbarian's player - Don't spoil my praises by telling everyone how I won. Kkthx. :D)
Okay, I apologize. Kobolds aren't weak, they're just statistically-disadvantaged.
Appreciated.
