I was involved in a PvP incident (which was awesome for all involved) where two people died as well as my character, but the killer (I'm guessing) did not have time or chose not to make off or tamper with the bodies because an NPC guard was nearby towards the end (long story). I'll ask the killer for clarification. The two people had to log off and later when the NPC guard filed a report, the corpses and remaining belongings were found at the crime scene about 30 min later. But because the other two logged off there were no corpses of them to look at and manipulate. My suggestion is creating a corpse object if the person has to log off after he/she dies so people can manipulate it, mangle it to make it unraiseable, take it to the Mausoleum, etc. So there is less confusion of whether it is legitimate IC to be raised or to just permadie.
Corpses and logging off
I think that wouldn't be too hard, I don't know how EfU's raising system works, but I think that when a dead player logs, you could use a simple spawn object script, having in store a tag for the new corpse that will prevent raising.
It would be nice to add a defaut weight, according to race and gender, so that the body can be grabbed and carried but would add encumberance penalty to movement.
If you log while dead your corpse shows up in the mausoleum, right?
Yes it does. Just to clarify that for once and for all :)
When the "white light" option comes in for deleting of characters i'm sure walking in there when you're on the fugue plane would probably do exactly that.
Make the corpse unraisable (since theres no player record any more) what happens to their items though is unknown, ideally they'd be distributed amoungst the shops in sanctuary at random as if someone had pawned all their stuff.
So if you want to play in a permadeath mode with no raise then that option is available to those that choose it.
