Sealed letter sent to the Council: Election rigging

Report: [For general overview, all members of the Council] 1st day of Alturiak in the year 151 Operative Delgado

I would request a meeting with the Council and the Council officials that handle matters concerning the voting machine. It has been brought to my attention that one of the Council candidates has set plans in motion to rig the elections through tampering with the voting machine. The Spellguard would offer their expertise with svirfneblin machinery to make sure that such a thing does not occur. It is imperative that our method of voting for members of our Council is not compromised by dissidents who wish to gain access to the Council simply to further their greedy needs. As previously stated, I require a meeting where we can discuss the available countermeasures we can offer to this new threat.

I've included the report I wrote up for the Spellguard with this letter, as well as the report I received from my Associate.

Operative Delgado Report: [For general overview, all Agents 30th day of Hammer in the year 151 Operative Delgado

I've received alarming reports concerning the upcoming elections, it seems that Morgan Maddocks is planning to effect the outcome of the elections by tampering with the voting-machine. Even though I doubt that she is capable of doing such a thing, I think that we should make -sure- that this does not happen. I suggest sending a missive to the Council where the Spellguard is allowed to examine the voting-device, under the gaze of the voting officials, to make sure that this does not happen. We could also try to make changes to the voting-machine to trap those involved in the tampering and thus place them under arrest.

    Agent Delgado,

one of my informants has told me Morgan Maddocks, in her effort to become a Councilwoman, plans to rig the elections. One of my informant's men was approached, if he was able to make someone invisible to fiddle with the outcome of the votes. How it was hoped to archieve this, is uncertain, but it is supsected, that the voting-machine will be tempered with. I advice placing counter-measures to this.

Operative Delgado,

Voting is handled by the trusted representatives of the Office of the Mayor, not by the Council directly. I am presently standing guard in the Town Hall, supervising the voting and ensuring that there are no incidents. There have been none so far. Please report to me as soon as possible with a complete report on your suspicions, and we will handle this. I can assure you, this is hardly the first incident in our history involving a ploy to disrupt elections. We are trained to deal with these matters.

My people are currently working on uncovering the precise manner that this supposed "rigging" will be done in. I will report to you when I know more. Until then, I suggest appropriate measures are taken so invisible persons are unable to approach the Voting Machine.

[a short personal response]

Sorry I've been out of touch Agent Delgado, I do enjoy keeping up with you fine fellows of the Spellguard. Anyways, I just wanted to say I trust that woman's morality about as much as I trust a rothe to perform surgery. I would not limit the investigation to magical means. I have reason to believe her funding is much greater than one might expect from a drunken wench who preaches to the gutter crowd where she sleeps (or should I say, falls into a comatose recovery period after a good nights beverage intake).

Also, you might consider that the machine was already tampered with before the elections, when the staff protecting the machine was much thinner. Just some thoughts, I hope they are of use. Best of luck Agent, tell all the boys I said hello, especially Kayne and Aaron.
