Spellbreakers

I am going to organize the creation of a counter guild to the Spellguard, known as the Spellbreakers.

This group's intention will not be to murder, maim, or otherwise wreak havoc unnecesarrily but push the free use of magic(especially in self defense situations). This includes murdering any spellguard caught outside of the city as they will be considered terrorists by the group. It's secondary goals will be as an exploration force to find the surface, patrol for drow incursions(etc), and also make the roads near the city safer for travellers(escorted caravans of goods, and people to Fort Mur and any other locations friendly to sanctuary that I might not know about).

The new guild will allow only focused mages of any race(any school except necromancy), rogues of any race(granted you have use magic device at the least), and dwarven fighters(which must have iron will, and luck of heroes since their specialty will be killing magic users and combating magical beasts, either from the underdark or the city itself.

I have a ranged fighter scheme designed for combating mages, while also giving the fighter the ability to set traps. The natural ac of the character at level eight tops out at fifteen wearing no armor whatsoever and while it isn't required anyone who wishes more information on specifics can leave a message below.

A guild due system will also be incorporated on top of the standard donation fare(no more than one hundred gold per real life week) to help generate revenue so as to keep the fighters stocked with helpful potions(traps), and the rogues stocked as well with helpful scrolls, wands, traps, potions and poisons.

Anyone interested in making a character, or using a current one which matches criteria for this new group can leave a message below. I will not move forward ic with this until I have at least three interested parties(excluding myself).

I find it funny you leave out the monk class when this is to keep spell casters in check.

It's probably because monks don't live long on EfU...I know from personal experience.

I've seen two people play monks, they are not in high population on the server.

A few people I have spoken with about this ooc through tells had already planned dwarven fighters anyway.

I think another organization that works against the Spellguard is great, and I dont mind a degree of OOC coordination or advertisement, but establishing build guidelines or mechanical requirements (like certain feats) is pretty crazy.

I would also really prefer that the majority of your advertisment works IC and with your character looking for like-minded characters rather than just organizing everything OOC'ly.

A better way to phrase your post would have like this:

"My character plans an establishing a intense group that works against Sanctuary's Spellguard. Interested players should anticipate plenty of PvP and conflict. My character will be looking for characters that specialize in fighting mages. If you're interested, keep an eye out for me in game."

I agree with Howland wholeheartedly, this is best done IG. There are many established characters who oppose the Spellguard, mine included. I think it's best to let something like this develop organically in game through interacting with other characters. If you plan it out too much OOC from the start, you run the risk of being disappointed when it goes in a different direction than you'd planned because other PCs don't see it exactly as you do.

I've been building up to it in character, I mentioned it in character a days ago though only as idle venting.

It wasn't until recently I actually started wanting to make the group, not just threaten to out of anger ic.

The specific feats, etc are there to symbolize the training of the group as a military force not simply a police force which accepts anyone.

Then if the feats are important start recruiting new people as they arrive and guide their growth - get them young, brain wash them early and you have a formidible army

You should have them all take somekind of magic succeptibility feat >_>

I really like the idea, conflict is what us EfU'ians live on. Even though almost every faction in the game world hates the Spellguard, it will be fun to get a new faction to fuel the hate to new levels. :)

Just contact Delgado if you need somekind of help training the initiatives, you know. . . how to survive overwhelming swarms of magic missiles, ducking away from dozens of fireballs and my personal favorite - "How to refrain from being ripped apart by an angry Spellguard in Troll form"

Again, good idea and I really really really hope you guys will be able to work it into the game :)

8) Bring it on!!

This might be interesting, would be interested in hearing what led you to threating it in game..my dwarf rogue may be getting in contact with you.

How the hell do they shift to troll form? When I had shift it only allowed me to change into a spider, not an umberhulk as I had wanted.

Right-click in your F1-F12 bar, go to the Radial Menu, Spell, IV spell, Polymorph Self, and choose one of the five listen; Either Troll, Pixie, Umberhulk, Giant Spider or Zombie.

Coldburn Right-click in your F1-F12 bar, go to the Radial Menu, Spell, IV spell, Polymorph Self, and choose one of the five listen; Either Troll, Pixie, Umberhulk, Giant Spider or Zombie.

I tried that, the only form available was giant spider. I thought it might be level based like shifter forms on the module so I never said anything while I actually had shift.

The only way I can actually cast protection from good also is when making potions.

Aekula It's probably because monks don't live long on EfU...I know from personal experience.

Tell that to Filthy Ike.

Vifur, I'm 85% certain that you're still not doing it correctly...if you follow Coldburn's steps, I can't imagine why you wouldnt have those options available.

Right-clicking on yourself doesn't summon up a radial bar? If it does, it's the option at the top, then to the right. From there, the third option below. Then proceed to the spell levels you want.

The only option available was spider form, if I ever level-up to eight I will take shift again and show you in screenshots.

No, you don't select it when you level up.

Right now, with you character, right click on the hotkey bar -- go up through the radial menu to your spells, select level 4 spells, and then hotkey the shape you prefer.

This is the same with protection from good/evil, etc.

I need to retake the spell at eight, I switched spells after dying then leveling back to seven.

Anyway, enough about that. For those of you that have made Spellbreaker characters the group is now forming ic. If you could make some type of response to the public notice ~Fliers around Sewer Town, and the Mines~ in that forum it would be appreciated.

If anyone wishes too they can finish this out, I won't be putting anymore work into it.

Question- would this group accept divine casters, such as a cleric, or only arcane casters?
