Trackless Step-
Ranger ability granting +4 to Hide and MS whilst in wilderness areas.
I've noticed the Underdark, and indeed every single area in the server, isn't considered a 'wilderness area' because nowhere do these bonuses apply.
Is it possible to change the Underdark areas to make them 'wilderness'? I think think this addition would add some more power to the ranger class on EfU, which IMO is serverly underpowered.

Sadly, I think this is a Bioware issue - There is no way to set the underground cavern tileset to offer the properties required for Trackless Step, as Howland said way back then. This issue has been brought up a couple of times, so it would really be grand if someone could think of a nice and non-exploitable way of bypassing this issue.

Old thing, and no, it won't be changed. It would cause weather effects in the areas.

I've been meaning to figure out a way to improve this, but haven't hit on anything in particular yet.

If you could figure out how to make the underdark a "wilderness" I would be exceedingly greatfull. My main char is a pure ranger and I do often use her to scout and spy. So +4 to hind would wonderfull!! :D Good luck on figuring out how to do it!

In the meantime rangers have their own shop and tons of custom ranger-only loot.
And tracking.

Ranger have their own shop?!?!
How the heck have I been playing as a ranger for about 5 months and not know about this? And the only custom ranger-only thing I have is my ranger's blade. I guess I should keep my eyes open from this shop and custom loot.

Active exploration is key. There is a lot of stuff hidden around that few people, if anybody, have found.

My rogue happens to have a ranger level and he recently stumbled upon a sheild and cloak that are both ranger-only items. The cloak was nice because its +1 AC (Deflection) and the sheild is +1 AC (armor) but goes up to +2 vs Dragons, not that there are any dragons in this module.

Thats because you have some of the most intensely difficult and random spawns in the Underdark ever so gathering a bunch of people to go on an expedition just so you can go shopping is pretty hard to arrange!
Though the 'Lost Shop' is pretty interesting. Of course, same 'team-for-one-to-shop' thing comes back into play.
I am curious though if there are any stores or shops that NO ONE has found yet.

Now, who said there isn't dragons in here.

Could there be a check made, every time someone with trackless step (druids and rangers) enters an area, if that area either has a certain value attached to it, or is part from a list, then they gain artificially +4 to the related skills? (If that made sense) Of course, that would be long since there are many areas.
Of course, this is all said in total ignorance of how to script stuff.

As well, I think the same goes for nature sense which if I recall well gives druid +2 AB when they are in wilderness areas.

I doubt it can be worked around but the druid shop is known in game to most if not all druids, and as far as hide/ms go, between your spells and the rat shape alone you should be able to wing an absolutely disgusting amount of hide/ms, that double digit level rogues would kill for. But then again theyd kill for anything. Can anyone say run on sentence?

Expect Trackless Step and Nature Sense to work properly as of v736.
