Many a times, I have gamed down to my last digits of gold at the Gambling Hall, only to have go out and find someone to sell my 'surplus' gear to get back in to game. While Speckard might be all right with this, it would be nice that there was someone in the premises that you could sell your stuff to, maybe at worse rates than outside.
And/Or, maybe you could persuade the dealer that you play for credit - and if you end the session with negative balance, you won't get in to the game again unless you pay first your dues, maybe with interests - or can persuade even more credit from the dealer.

I'd just like to see a character that actually did this kind of service.

I tried credit loaning with my character but nobody seems interested in it.

In a world where you can log out and not see other people for weeks, or leave the server from disinterest, credit lendinng is so risky as to(I would say) be impossible to profit from.

Agreed. I borrowed 20gp from someone on my very first day here. Didn't see the character for 2 weeks, and when I gave him back those stupid 20gp he couldn't remember me. If this is to work, it needs to be made official in some way; as in, not just "I borrow you 20gp. Bring them back within a week - or else!"
(That probably didn't make any sense.)

I added a pawnbroker to the Gambling Hall. Credit lending to adventurers is a pretty risky proposition.
