Impending DOom quest

I strongly recommend the following changes for this quest,

    1. A two minute delay is given for the group to prepared WITHIN the area, not outside it because of the to fast spawn trigger which gives the group no chance to prepare at all in the area. Most groups end up buffing outside the area (in full view of Watchmen.) Also gives the opportunity for rogues to place traps.

    2. Broader range of attack. More spawns need to come from the flanks instead of from the front.

    3. Siege equipment (Crossbow bolts, catapult ammo, etc...) is spawned here, such as ooze catapult ammo, incendiary, and more to give the realistic feeling of a siege.

    4. Barricades that PC's can set up (If possible!)

While I was on a group that was decimated, it was mainly due to lag which could of been avoided (Likely) with a small spawn time delay.

Although these suggestions and the fact our group was destroyed aren't linked, it was purely lag, I think they hold a lot of merit!

When I've done this job previously there has been more of a delay before the Chosen began to attack.

I might not have noticed because they've not previously proceeded to beat me to death with my own skull.

The spawns did have a delay. One of your party members had already walked all the way in and walked back. The rest of the group came in minutes after and thus why they were already close.

They do flank, and by way of how the field is, most do come from the front. In fact, the group that got decimated was quite surrounded from all sides.

Siege equipment, should be limited. By time we get all the way to that battle area, you should figure that the chosen have destroyed most if not all and thus why the Watch aren't set up camp closer to them.

I must say, I believe people were more shocked by the turn of events more than anything as it was a boosted challenge then previously encountered.

...*Yells at people to wait next time!*

If anyone remembers the old undead-gnome-dunwarren-staircase quest, it had the same problem: if someone entered and was there for more than a few seconds, the spawns would begin marching on your position.

Thats part of the reason that I have always disliked entering into a known difficult quest without the full compliment of party members in tow.

Duergar Fort/Shield Dwarf quest poses similar problems because of their absolutely insane firing range.

1. Can't be done without screwing the pathway of the monsters and making them all jam up and make the quest very easy. I have tried.

2. You havent played it for very long? I assure you that enemies do come from all sides, but not initially.

3. There is siege equipment available.

4. Not possible at the moment. Maybe in the future.
