I know, I not live this place long time; but already I know that this place, and you people are worth fighting and dying for. I am simple man, but little that I know is this: We are close now to our enemy. They come to us, and they steal away our family, like many of us were stolen before. As I walk this city each day, I look to wreckage, and fearful face of many. The chosen now are more close than I ever see, and drow and other filthy beast smell our blood, they hunger for more. Why I tell you this is simple: We must lick our wounds, and stand best we can, and quickly. We men are not so big in this cave, but we must do what we can. Warrior, I ask you to take up your sword. Doctors, your knife and needle. Wizard, your book, your cane. Wise men, your pens, your papers. People of this city, we must stand together and be strong now. We must rebuild our walls, we must make our young strong and heed word of the old that remain with us. Love your city and your people as I do, and keep this place safe for the many more who I hope will come.
