A letter to Alwin Berhend, of Cormyr, left in the Last Stand

The writing on this letter is in a fine hand.

Alwin of Cormyr,

Goil and I have talked it over, and we have decided to start our own company. We are both agreed, that we should extend an invitation unto you. Accepting this will not prohibit you from doing what you wish to do, and in this, we are all equal.

We do not accept any jobs that are immoral, or accept them from people we think are not deserving of our aid. Almost anything you do, though, we will back you up on it, unless it is something that is immoral, and we are unwilling to do such a thing.

Think upon these things before you answer.

-Darien Shornback of the Freedom Wall Mercenaries

Darien Shornback of the Freedom Wall Mercenaries,

There are no others I'd more like to fight alongside than the two of you. I pledge myself and my blade to this cause, it has never faltered in the service to me and neither will it to yours. That we will not accept immoral jobs is acceptable, I'm a fine upstanding man myself and you can expect nothing else of me. If the two of you are watching my back, to almost no matter the circumstance, how can I truly call myself either a friend or cormyrian if I do not promise to watch yours?

You have my aid.

Alwin Behrend
