Grunstubbles....

I would like to know the meaning of the guards outside of the Grunstubble Mines.

Clan Grunstubble and Clan Stoutheart have both benefited from the Truce that has existed between our peoples. Many Stouts are more than willing to help rid your tunnels of vermin, gnolls and even evil gnomes for the adequate rewards you provide so that your operation may continue to be profitable.

We would appreciate it if you would inform us of any threat to the mines, because as you know, our Clanhome was gained by eliminating an evil giant that was a serious threat to your operation. You may think you don't need help, but perhaps we could contract out to help take care of this threat to the mines as we have in the past so that your kin can concentrate on the business of operating the mines, and you don't have to risk your miners.

Also, I'd appreciate it if you would forward this to the Thane of Clan Grunstubble.

A roughly written response is prepared:

I don't know what guards you're talking about. We've posted no extra guards and are aware of no new threat.

I don't know what truce you're talking about. Old Tornbeard, and now I guess you lot, have scratched out a home in an abandoned shaft -- but cause us problems, and we'll kick you straight out.

I've never heard of any "evil giant," and have no idea what you're talking about.

Just keep out of our beards, scant as they may be.
