Today I had a character barricaded into Thomas' inn. We knew there were players hanging a round at the end of the stone corridor, politely not transition ganking us when we came out. All good and well. However I wanted to walk outside every few minutes and fire a fireball etc down the corridor, to make them annoyed, then pop back into the inn.
Now here is the problem, since there is a transition there, it would look like transition rorts, transition, attack, transition. Unfortunately to stay in the alley is certain death, while in PnP or 'real life' whatever, the retreat into the nominally safe area is sensible and doable. Firing from a doorway is just common sense.
If you are trapped in a transition area, where PCs don't want to come and fight you, is it alright to use that transition as a staging ground for some guerrilla warfare? Or is it still dodgy?
