Dear Miss Lyonaley,
I write to you this evening out of the debt I entered in with you, months ago, when you told me your tale of the favoured of Oghma. I must say that you told it so beautifully that I cannot repay you in another of its like. Instead, I repay you in a warning. The Spellguard limit and control information for their own purposes, as they have demonstrated, they are not interested in Oghma, in the concept of Sanctuary, in the freedom of its people, only themselves and their own self-advancement. They play with illithid technology, enthrall good men who brought Sanctuary back from the ashes, and the gods know the truth about Simms and his one hundred or so years as Commander. The rebellion is only a response to their many and numerous crimes, thus they are responsible for the plight we find ourselves in.
My warning to you is this. If you continue to align yourself with the Spellguard, if you continue to work towards accomplishing their nefarious ends, you will be struck down with the rest, although I will not relish the experinece. I have holy artifacts of Beshaba that ward me from your magic, I have danced with and slain dragons, I have faced off against Phandiates and won, the Order presents me little to fear, and I promise you, I will succeed. I warn you to leave now, for the tale you once told me, and for your pleasant company. The rebellion does not deny the necessity of a mage order, however, the Spellguard have gone too far and overstepped their bounds. Their leadership will be castrated from the rest, and the Order reformed when we are done. Leave now and repent.
Sincerely, Sergeant James William Everard
