Singing at the Seeker Barricade.

On the Seeker side of the Barricade, a young woman fully dressed in Seeker attire goes out, and begins to sing a variety of songs to cheer up the men. One whimsical song in particular though, sticks out. As she performs an encore of it several times. It can be heard out to about the Town Hall

When I was young I had a twist for punching babies with my fist and so I thought I would enlist and join the Watch of Sanctuary!

The Watch is really quite a crew, they're looking for monkeys up in the zoo, if I had a face like you I'd join the Watch of Sanctuary!

Lieutenant Krown's got such a drought, just give him a couple of jars of stout. He'll kill the enemy with his mouth and save the Watch of Sanctuary!

Lieutenant Dentra's quite a sucker, just show him a posterior and he'll pucker. He'll service Sheps whenever he needs succor. The best of the Watch of Sanctuary!

Sheriff Sheps is a swell fellow, for a puppet of Simms, he's really quite mellow. Never leaving one's office does not make a man yellow, he embodies the Watch of Sanctuary!

The Watch is really quite a crew, they're looking for monkeys up in the zoo, if I had a face like you I'd join the Watch of Sanctuary! The end of each performance usually ends in a volley of crossbow bolts, or in one case, a large icestorm from a Spellguard Agent.

Singing continues on the Seeker side of the barricade on an almost daily basis. On the day of the attack by the rebel Watch on the front gates though, the singer begins to sing one song quite constantly, stating each time before she sings it.

This song is dedicated to Murien. Though you may have passed on, you attained immortality in our hearts. We will never forget you.

The melody of the song is a triumphant overture, which may seem odd, at first, given the opening lyrics.

Oh they say 'tis a hanging that soon I will be, my body a-twisting from yonder zurkh tree. For daring to think that a woman could live free, but though I may die, 'tis a Seeker I'll be.

The strings of my harp will never be stilled, even though tomorrow I am to be killed. For the music of Sanctuary is her strength and her will, and the soul of a Seeker no mortal can kill!

Oh the black-hearted mage on his cold dark throne, fears Seeker freedom; that he has never known. Our bright passion comes through in the tone, so he orders it silenced and broods all alone.

The strings of my harp will never be stilled, even though tomorrow I am to be killed. For the music of Sanctuary is her strength and her will, and the soul of a Seeker no mortal can kill!

For a woman of the road, death holds no sting; 'tis another adventure, a wondrous thing! And I know that my music will evermore ring, in the cavernous tower of that false king.

The strings of my harp will never be stilled, even though tomorrow I am to be killed. For the music of Sanctuary is her strength and her will, and the soul of a Seeker no mortal can kill! Another song which she seems to dedicate often to Murien, has a far more melancholy melody to it.

My life goes on, down endless days. It's been too long since I've seen your smile.

And now darkness around me doth close. Far off I can hear you singing.

Death comes for me, with thirsty swords. It's been too long since I've seen your smile

No way out, doom comes to me. Far off I can hear you singing

If the gods would hear me, I'd cry out. It's been too long since I've seen your smile.

I never meant to fall by you unseen. Far off I can hear you singing.

It comes swiftly now, sweeping me away. It's been too long since I've seen your smile.

Everything fades, and I am gone. Far off I can hear you singing.

Mourn me not, my dear love, though it's been too long since I've seen your smile.

Far off I can hear you singing. So sing high, sing clear and then listen, dear. You'll be hearing me, long after I'm gone. In your dreams, my voice will live on.

The final line is spoken softly enough that only those on the Seeker side of the barricade would hear it.

Far off I can hear you singing. Through my tunes, my voice lives on.
