Commander Reynolds I believe logic can be used to attempt a ceasefire with regards to the rebellion. As a ceasefire would benefit all concerned.
I know most members of the Spellguard are intelligent enough to realize they cannot survive long if they were to eliminate all the real Watch members, and the spellguard associates, (even while wearing Watch uniforms), are inadequate to defend them against both the rebels and the Chosen. Together we could annihilate the Chosen and then they can resume their hunt for rebels without cause for concern about the Chosen.
The rebels should be informed that they too would benefit from a ceasefire if only long enough to eliminate the Chosen. The fact that chaos flows in the wake of rebellion is documented historical fact that cannot be debated. Even if they were to win this rebellion, the period after the usurpation and the planting of a new government leaves a time of anarchy until the roots of that new government are seated. This is the time when a smart enemy will take advantage of said rebellion. While the military is recovering from the casualties and the people are still uncertain of political affirmations. It is even a tactic used by some armies via propaganda to cause a rebellion...
You don’t think this rebellion could be such planted propaganda to cause infighting amongst the populace, do you? Could the Appetite be behind this rebellion, using the people against each other to bide for time while his Chosen fight the animatrons? It would be a very strategic move by them if it were.
If we could recruit even a couple Spellguard and or rebels to help with our fight against the Chosen our victory would be assured. For both of these groups are powerful in and by themselves, let-alone joined together into a single force.
Perhaps you should give this some thought, Councilor Peace
