Anyone run NWN on a mac mini or macbook?

Anyone run NWN on a mac mini or macbook? Just wondering if they are strong enough to run NWN with their onboard video.

I'm moving in about a month probably and am tossing around the idea of getting a mini when I do so.

Thanks.

A Macbook Pro can, a Macbook has trouble. I've owned both computers, and my Macbook Pro can run NWN easily whereas my Macbook chugged a lot.

Macbook Pro will be fine to run it through Rosetta.

The game does not, unfortunately, ran natively in X86.

Macbook Pro it'll have to be then. That's the one I wanted anyway...

9Lives, what do you mean run it through Rosetta? NWN is available for MAC, isn't it?

Thanks for the responses.

I think that these blasphemous non-mac users have confused you. =P

A macbook pro will run it faster then most other Mac's, but you will require a secondary program called "Rosetta". This is because the macbook pro runs an Intel chipset instead of a PPC chipset, and Nwn hasn't yet updated to allow running without Rosetta.

But Rosetta is dirt easy to use, comes with the computer, and seriously, you just open up the program and press a button. Nothing complicated, nothing fancy.

Im running a self-built Intel Mac desktop (Desktop thingy. Theres really no tower, I just kinda set up the parts inside my desk so I can get to them easily and I don't need cooling. xD) and It runs Nwn -way- better then my old mac ever did.

I don't use Rosetta to my knowledge and my Macbook Pro runs NWN well.

This, sir, is because the gaze of sir Winston Churchill, sitting in your avatar-compartment, compells your macbook to perform deeds of great valor. It simply dares not resist the will of Winston!

Thanks Hammerfist0, that clears things up nicely.

So wait, did you install OSX on custom hardware or just take apart a Mac Pro and bolt things into your desk frame? Just curious, i'm a hardware tinkerer myself.

I installed OSX on custom hardware, although I did modify the Cocoa environment a bit so I could use my touchscreen.

Is your macbook pro more then two years old? If it is, then it is the old PPC chipset.

My Macbook Pro is three months old.

Weird.

Running 10.5, you should need Rosetta or else it should lag badly. Either your lucky or Bioware released an update without telling anyone.

(Update: Mine runs fine without Rosetta also. Bioware must have snuck UB compatibility into the last update, maybe?)

Woo Hoo! No Rosetta for me if I get a MAC.

Mac are still around?
