Spellguard Symbol in the Hoaran Temple

Title says it all; just because a quest plays in that temple, doesn't mean it shouldn't have the Spellguard Symbol. My guess is that area would still be warded, similar to the other two temples.

Seconded. There's absolutely no excuse for it not being warded, other than to assure the inevitable debate between the Spellguard Agents/Associates and regular casters which, frankly, gets rather dull after only a few times.

Spellguards have told my guys IC its wareded so I just use that as an exscuse.

Then it would be easy to add the symbol into the lay-out.

As a Spellguard Agent, I've never told anyone that it's warded. I don't even know if it's supposed to be warded. I'd presume there's an IC reason for it not being warded, for example the fact that very few people in Lower actually want the Spellguard to ward their buildings. Maybe the "staff" in the temple didn't trust the Spellguard, maybe they made somekind of deal with the Spellguard on how they wouldn't cast their spells within the temple, maybe they just ignored the Spellguard and cast their spells even though the Spellguard told them that it was "against the law".

Maybe that's the reason for the undead? >_>

And just as an OOC warning to you people casting spells in quests taking place within unwarded buildings/areas, I for one plan on being a bit more strict IC'ly with this matter. Fining and even imprisoning people for casting spells outside the wards in the future, even though they're doing it in a quest.

We've had instances where someone cast a spell outside the wards and suddenly drow were at our gates, I don't think it's too much to ask from people to refrain from spellcasting outside the wards :)

Just run into a warded building, buff, and then run back :)

I really wanna see a spellguard trying to arrest someone for illegal spellcasting in lower! Just to watch the mobs tear them into little peices while the tigereyes are like all busy with a problem waaaaaaay over the other side of town for some reason that nobody can specifiy.

XD

Just wait until Delgado gets mass charm.

---

Mob of angry citizens from lower: "DOWN WITH THE SPELLGUARD TYRANTS! RIP OUT HIS GUTS!"

*Mass charm*

"All Hail The Spellguard! Let's help them eat our children!"

---

And, naturally, with a will save that only a powergamed cleric with Iron Will and Arcane Protection could *maybe* resist, it could actually come true.

However, halflings have sneak attacks. Mind.

This has gone a little bit off topic. We will check and see if there's a reason for the building to be unwarded, and correct the mistake if it is indeed a mistake; there's really nothing else to say about it.

*EVERYONE* knows IC by now the wards are full of ####, hell, I said this before I even had any compelling evidence.

Once the city is found, it STAYS found, its not as if the tunnels shift...

No, I think everyone knows OOC by now the wards are full of donkey feces. My current character wouldn't know of the true effects of the wards (or lack thereof), only that, when he has casted outside a warded area, nothing has happened - yet.

If you have high spellcraft, you can ask a DM about these wards in game, just so you know....

Tunnels shift routinely. Ask our Seekers.

Honestly, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the wards, given the fairly obvious evidence of their functioning. Regardless, that's a discussion that is best handled in-game, and I would vastly appreciate it if Naga, DruQks, Snoteye, and Vesa (in particular) would take it there, rather than having it here on the forums.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but if anybody posts another off-topic post here I am locking this thread and having a chat with them. Your debate skills are better put to use in-game or, if you want to do forum work, in coming up with comments about suggestions about which I haven't specifically stated that there's nothing else productive which can be said.

I wouldn't make assumptions, although your point of view is perfectly legitimate IC a lot of things about Sanctuary that seems "obvious" turns out not to be so.

The Temple didn't have a Spellguard symbol. This was resolved ICly.
