The Death Of A Thousand Cuts
I recall a memory from my childhood, one of many that burn bright within the confines of my mind. One that has served me well these years to gain Kiaransalee's favor, and will serve you well if you so too, wish the favor of The Revenancer.
A drow male (which the lesser races called my father, such a disgusting term) dragged a limp drow, also male, along the fall of the chamber known as "The Chamber of A Thousand Torments". The floor was covered in a fine layer of blood, fresh and soaking into the floor to give it a crimson sheen as our reflections reflected from it. In the middle of the chamber, a table of obsidian with shackles for the victims hands and feet to restrain them.
A female drow awaited at the table as my father shackled the limp body to the table, bowing deeply before exiting without a word. "Come closer child, and revel in the entertainment I provide for you, for there will come a time when you shall stand here and provide the same entertainment to others in the name of The Lady Of The Dead".
It was then she jumped onto the table with lightning pace, her thighs wrapped around the unconcious drow tightly. A seconds notice later and a dagger was cut deep into the chest of the victim followed by a chorus of screaming from the now alert and clearly distrssed drow.
The first few cuts must be deep to cause great pain to the victim so it may cry out in a chorus of moans. The cuts that follow need only be shallow to keep the victim in a constant state of pain so that it may take hours for them to bleed to death.
The woman that taught me told me that there are places far from Traensyr where they pay handsomely for this entertainment, and that it can last upto months depending on the crime of the victim and the decision of the artist, the most important thing to remember is that the victim endure constant pain with every incision.
In pain and torment we are born, and in torment and anguish will the unworthy leave, only by following the path of Kiaransalee are we given salvation from the pain death brings and given the insight and power to cheat death.
