[letter to the Society]

Society of the Ordered Mind,

I have heard little from your organization recently, and there has been little to no correspondence between your people and the city Council. I urge you to choose a liason to work with the Council to better empower the city to defend itself from Aberrant attacks, such as the recent tragedy. On that note, I have an offer.

I am suggesting that you, in cooperation with the Spellguard, test all Council candidates for enthrallment and publish a list of those who have shown themselves to be clean. In the future, this may become a pre-requisite for candidacy, but I would be interested in seeing the successfulness of willing testing before such a measure.

Congratulations to your men that were victorious over the illithid, and I hope that you continue to support the city in this positive manner.

Cnc. Dentra

Councillor Dentra

Our organization is not part of the city, nor has it ever pretended to be. We do not answer to the council, and we respect that the Council does not see fit to provide us with any resources so that we may be better suited to maintain our twilight vigil. If you wish this to change, I will listen to what you have to offer when you come speak with myself at the Chapterhouse.

Your written offer is something which we have considered in the past. However, we are experts in psionics and mental manipulation. The Spellguard have the prestigious honor of having the sole non intrusive thrall testing equipment, and will not share it with us. We have never been allowed the proper equipment or resources, nor did we care to pursue it. We are not a political organization as you know, and care little for power mongring or subtle ploys that the councillors have seemed fond of in the past.

I am beginning to lay the groundwork for an extensive psionic testing operation that will encompass the entire city. You can help by providing a list of every thrall that has been in the Spellguard, Watch, Seekers, Council, and other city organizations. Please note that 'implants' are hardly the only way to enthrall a person, but your council and defence organizations have failed to realize this when the Society has brought it to them in the past.

Come by the Chapterhouse.
