After updating to 1.69 I experienced that NWN became very sluggish, both in single player and multiplayer, so much so it is now impossible to play. I can load the game without difficulties and I have had no problems playing before the update and all my drivers are up to date.
I have tried to change the CPU Affinity setting to -2, as suggested on the Bioware forum, but it has not solved the problem.
Any other tips out there?

I believe its actually an issue where you need to downgrade drivers to previous versions. I'm not certain which, though it has been posted before!

I had exactly the same problem when I updated my game to 1.69 and it was not fixed with downloading an earlier version of the driver. A reinstall fixed it for me. (After I formated my C and D drive)

I've also tried to reinstall the game and update using the critical update patch provided by the Bioware website, without success.
In addition I tried to: disabled sound, the CPU client, and tried to refresh the nwn.ini files, disabled Shiny Water and put the graphic specs to its lowest. I am also certain that NWN and my PC's graphic specs. match. Nor do I have any haks or overrides.
I have also tried various compatibility modes without success.
I think I've about exhausted my resources and options. I'd really appreciate if anybody could give me a clue as to what I might have missed. :/

Oddly enough, I have been running with little problems. The other night, I removed all my overrides and portraits for ease and speed with making a new character...and BAM, all of a sudden my game was stuttering like crazy.
I reinstalled my overrides and the game was back to normal. I have no idea what might have caused that, though I think it could be related to some tileset changes.
I will continue to test to see if I can narrow it down some more. If I find anything I'll let you know.

If not too much of trouble, maybe you could tell me what overrides you are using so I might test it?

This was discussed here - https://efupw.com/efu1-forum/topic/40/40678/problems-with-the-new-patch/index.html#post-164434&highlight=#164434 I went from EfU-in-treacle to perfect with one of the fixes here, give them a go.

My graphic card is ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, which, as far as I know there are no updates for Dell machines.
