A response to Candidate Ignatiev's treacherous bid for power Citizens of Sanctuary, I urge all of you to ignore the words of this treacherous enemy of our free city and stand against him. Do not forget that this same man was once the second in command of House Montezzi which has murdered many of our own people and acted against us, however even without such a tainted past history there are still many other reasons to ignore him.

Even now, Candidate Ignatiev had the audacity to tell us what we ought to do and how we should bow down to his vile master; Etorix and even claimed that this dragon is benevolent!

I say to you that this is completely false, if Etorix was benevolent in any way, he would not push us about as if we are mere slaves and he would not have attacked us or make demands at every moment that we acted against his wishes. The truly benevolent do not force themselves upon those they protect, this dragon is not benevolent, but instead utterly tyrannical and insidious, there is something he wants of us, perhaps even our complete servitude to him, certainly our safety is not truly his concern.

It is obvious that Ignatiev's true goal is to see to our doom and defeat, in fact he has quite a few reasons to do so, his master Etorix is against every part of Sanctuary and the ideals of freedom and democracy that it was founded upon, also Ignatiev most likely wishes to enact vengeance upon us for the death of his former master; Prince Rinaldo Montezzi.

I understand that these are trying times for Sanctuary and that a Drow army has threatened to bring war upon us and it is not my wish to cause any further suffering, but however now is not the time to be desperate and become easily fooled by our foes and those who claim that our fall is nigh, the truth is that our fall is not now and that the only reason for our current situation is actually due to the same type of policies that brought our city into a false alliance with the Shadow Tribe and Etorix; because we thought that working with evil to defeat evil and compromising our ideals to evil is key to our survival.

This is not the case and countless times have we tried such, yet our city only becomes weaker and further shattered day by day, people of Sanctuary, we can no longer continue down this path, it is time that we make a stand, it is time that we actually fight for what this city was founded upon and for what is right. It is far better to die as a free person, than live a life of slavery, yet still I do not believe death is what we shall have as the outcome, but instead a stronger Sanctuary, we must stand up and be willing to take this risk and bear through these painful times so that the next generation will live in a strong and free Sanctuary or even having the hope of seeing the Surface once more.

Ignore this man, stand against him and vote instead for far more capable candidates that will not throw aside the ideals of Sanctuary and our freedoms for the tried and failed cowardly way of compromising out of fear. Lastly, do not bow down to evil and do not live under the blackmail of the Shadow Dragon Etorix any longer, the Lord Ilmater is there to support you in these trying times, do not fear. Together we may find better alternatives and strive to rebuild our city.
