Bane answers my prayers and continues to give me guidance when I meditate-this is proof enough to me my actions were entirley proper. If I was somehow in error and I am clearly not, I apologize to none but the Keep and Bane Almighty.
You are ignorant of the Keep and the proper will of Bane. You may seek to serve him which is commendable but he accepts only proper service. Bane makes it clear that a proper chain of command is vital. Of the few times since the Return that he had graced us with his personal presence, it has been to punish those who have ignored the proper chain of orders.
I will remind you in the recent schisms during Banes... brief journey, there was a schism among the faithful, the wizards and the priests. I was in the Keep the day Bane returned to us and I will remember this great honor till the day I die. On that VERY DAY he ended the schism, naming a priest High Tyrant and his INFALLABLE mortal representative.
I instruct you now that your dream, is false. I have the divine mandate to speak for Almighty Bane, he answers my prayers and were I to say a message he sends is false, he would not only cease to answer my prayers, but I have no doubt I would immediately be killed on the spot, so all the faithful would know its legitimacy. The will of Bane is too important for error and the Great Black Hand allows none.
It may well be your hatred of the drow has transformed this dream, or it is either a natural dream, though I think now perhaps a plant by Cyric to put doubt in your mind. Some of the other faithful question if you are truly a disciple of Bane or one of Cyric sent to sow discord in our ranks-this idea had not occurred to me till it was suggested. It seems a possibility.
I do not claim leadership of the faithful in the city, in reality I think Praetorius is more apt in that roll, he has shown tremendous ability in it so far. However YOU will not continue down a path of actions which put us all in danger and run counter to the will of the Great Black Hand. You will not put the followers of Bane or the city of Sanctuary at risk with your lunatic actions.
If any of these facts are unpleasing to you and you refuse to accept them, you are welcome to try to conquer the city in the name of Cyric or Torm, for Bane does not want you.
If you are a true vassal to the Great Black Hand and bow your head to him, then you will respect his representatives and follow the orders he sends through his priests.
