Randomizing quests?

Is there any way to have the quests become random with each sever set?

Lets take the Volt quest for instance. Can it be set up that one time it’s Volts, another time maybe spiders and yet another time maybe rats and bats (or something on this line).

What I have seen, and am guilty of myself, is players metagimng the buff. I.e.; buffing up with certain abilities before they even walk through the door. Why, because we know what spawn is waiting for us on the other side. A bit of randomizing would throw a wrench into this type of metagaming.

This would force players to either send in scouts to find out what lies ahead and then role-play which buffs would be needed. Or they would just walk in without buffing and buff when they see what’s there. Both ways of which would put a more realistic feel to buffing instead of walking up to the beginning of the quest and everybody stands around buffing to the nines without even a word as to “Why the hell are we doing this!? We just walked through a half dozen tunnels (transitions) to get here, why are we buffing before we walk through this one!?”

This is harder than it sounds and is very difficult to balance, but would be highly desired, at least by me.

Yes, this is technically possible. It should not even be particularly difficult to setup the controls. Unfortunately, it would be impossible to use the standard BioWare encounters, which is pretty much reason enough to not look into it any further, since custom encounter systems are tedious to work with at best. I'm pretty sure the entire DM team agrees that an easy way to randomize spawns would be amazing.
