A reply is returned to the Shadow Tribe Embassy within the Canal ward with the Seal of the Spellguard upon it. Ambassador Ignatiev,

Due to the current crisis amongst the Watch, and the demands of the Dhaerow, this will have to be delayed for a few days. Once the immediate crisis is resolved, I will attain clearance to meet with your master.

I do however wish to know if he wants to meet with me as a representative of the Order, or whether he has another, more personal, reason for requiring my presence. If I am meeting him as a representative of the Order, then certain diplomatic protocols will need to be followed when meeting with such an illustrious figure.

Please provide directions. While I am quite certain that you would do nothing to disgrace your current master, the history between us is certain to add increased tension to any meeting between myself and the Great Shadow Death. I'll bring one escort of my own.

I do not have much of an idea why he requested to meet you, and I am not of a mind to bore or irritate him by asking the reason. You may bring your guard, I suppose, but more than likely he will be turned away before actual audience with the Shadow Death is granted. Perhaps not.

Inform me when your betters have deigned to grant you permission to leave the city to meet with its most important foreign neighbor. I suggest quite strongly a response is left in timely fashion.
