This part of clownland is brutal, and I absolutely love it.
The Loot is wonderful, I absolutely love it.
But the chances of survival of VERY low.
Or if you insist on keeping them, have the quest drop more loot.
Otherwise, awesome quest.

This is intended to be every bit as challenging as it is. Though admittedly the treasure drops are sometimes not on par for how difficult you will find things, you'll find other times you are vastly rewarded.
Also, please do not include what one may or may not face on the quest in these posts. A big part of enjoying and exploring a persistent world comes from the surprises of adventuring. If you know exactly how to prepare for a quest (as you now know what to expect) you remove a lot of the thrill of it.
There is a sign that warns of the perils within, and it is certainly not a joke.

Sherry, I absolutely love this quest.
However, the lack of a consistent reward makes me question the reasoning behind going.

Adventure?
Excitement?
Something new?
I'm sorry you got unlucky with the treasure drops, and if you feel this sour taste in your mouth still, no one is forcing you to do the quest. It is meant to challenge those that find everything else on EFU a bit too easy, really.
Edit: Every quest seeks to exploit or challenge a certain statistic or merit of a character and his build. Some will test reflex, others resistance to fire damage, others yet to mental attacks. This is done so every character has a chance to shine in some way or another on differing quests.

I see your points, however, I have been crippled on this quest before,
I have seen omfg loot drop before.
I see your points, and this quest is truly enjoyable and -challenging-
However, I am sure it would make level 10 pc's shudder in horror.

No, Thomas you're wrong there, I actually wish that this quest was open up to characters above level 8. Its a fun, challenging quest, and I kind of hate that I have to miss it because so many people are unwilling to do it at the proper level.
Granted, I would not do this quest with just any party. I would only do it with a group that I trusted completely.
Some quests like this are meant to be a challenge to the player base, and force you to make relationships with people you trust, rather than just getting any Joe Schmo adventurer out there to help you.
Seers, final boss is another good example of this type of quest.

i say do nothing with the reward. for 1 risking your life for no IC reason but exploring should be big rewards and no rewards. I dont think dms should be giving PCs slaps on the wrist every time they do something dangerouse and do beyond what is expected of them.

I would agree that the quest is definately difficult, and maybe some of the ranged attack power could be toned down? Not trying to make a big spoiler here, but I have gotten killed many a time with flaming throwing axes...
