Members of the Sanctuary Council,

I am writing to inquire as to the state of our city's relationship with the Shadow Tribe and the dragon they venerate. I'm sure you've been busily deliberating how to handle the recent demands made upon our city by the angry drow of Traensyr. It seems clear to me that if the city is to continue existing at all, their demand of 300 chattel slaves from our population cannot be met. The outcry over such a blatant violation of the city's founding tenets would be divisive to the point of Sanctuary's self-destruction.

On the other hand, we cannot survive an attack from a united Traensyr. That much is also abundantly clear.

Deterrence is our only option, and, aside from the protection of a powerful dragon such as Etorix, I can think of little that could deter the drow if they are actually bent on vengeance for the role citizens of Sanctuary played in the recent Ghaundauran attacks.

Consider this a polite urging from a concerned citizen to resolve matters quickly, before the drow return to heap even more demands upon us.
