[Letter to Agent Isania of House Symbaern]

Agent Symbaern,

The following is an account of what transpired that led to my arrest for the assault of Spellguard Aspirant Jacia;

Jacia had assembled a motley crew of unnamed individuals of varying talents and wished for my assistance regarding a matter near the Dark Lake. As we proceeded through the abandoned mines we encountered a lone duergar. When approached he simply stated that he was not looking for trouble and asked us to move on.

Jacia instantly demanded that we slay him, I refused, knowing that our motley band would be unable to handle the duergar and he clearly wasn't looking for trouble in the first place.

So we proceeded onwards or so it seemed, apparently Jacia stayed behind and engaged the duergar hurling a fireball at it. At this point I was already waiting at the Dark Lake shore thinking that most of my companions were behind me.

Not long after our halfling companion ran out badly bloodied. He explained what Jacia had done, not long after I heard Jacia's voice, she was concealed with an invisibility spell, she demanded that we prepare and soon after her came the duergar encased in a skin of stone. He was utterly furious and offered a bounty of 500 gold to the one whom brought him Jacia as he chased her invisible visage.

I forbid anyone present from aiding him. Apparently at this point Jacie fled into the Illithid inn known as the Pyrimo for safety and the angry duergar turned his attention towards the rest of us. He subdued us with great ease and seemed content with humiliating and savagely beating me. After a time Jacia returned and began combating the duergar once again.

She used the same tactics striking at him with spells then vanishing, until eventually the duergar lost patience and simply stated "Fine I'll kill your friends while you run around."

At this point I felt Jacia's touch and did what I felt I must to secure the lives she had put in such grave danger. I struck at her with the flat of my blade subduing her. At this point the duergar through a sack of coins at me and began beating Jacia and demanding an apology. She would not oblige him.

It was then he drew his axe holding it to her neck, out of my own pocket I paid the duergar two thousand coins in exchange for Jacia's life. He gladly accepted and went on his way. At this point the Jacia began hurling insults with regards to my heritage, lack of honor and untrustworthiness. I ran at her briefly in a rage and she fled away.

When I arrived back in town I found Jacia speaking with Private Alejandro. The three of us proceeded to the watch house where we gave our statements regarding the events. Private Alejandro stated that while he was disgusted by the actions of Aspirant Jacia regretfully he must arrest me for assault.

After the arrest took place and Aspirant Jacia had departed he came to my cell and released me, stating that no record of the matter will be kept.

Please excuse the poor formatting of this report as it was written while under great fatigue.

Agent Symbaern

I have been compensated fully and I believe any social issues between myself and Aspirant Lyonaley have been resolved. I would request that the event that transpired not be held against Aspirant Lyonaley with regards to her aspirations to join the order.
