Rather long and possibly boring post coming up, sorry.
Hello everyone, just joined the server, and I'll be playing as Frugeon Nightshadow. I've been playing NwN for about... I can't remember how many years, actually, I think I got Gold Edition in 2004 or 2005, and just a few months ago I finally got around to getting Diamond Edition (also had that CD key problem, rather annoying, but I'm glad they got back to me quickly).
Latelly I've been playing on the Arelith server, which is set in the forgotten realms on an Island way off in the Trackless Sea, I feel like such a noob right now because I can't remember the name of the island, I think though that it is called Arelith, but I think it may also be called Amia, not sure. Anyway, I'm starting to play that server less and less because I'm tired of the crap the DMs there were pulling on me, even though every minute I spent online there was done both minding the rules and trying to create a good RP experience for everyone, they assigned me a very low RP rating *see below*, they threatened to ban me on multiple occasions, called me a liar, and overall made me having fun there rather difficult.
(they assign everyone an RP rating, 0, 10, 20, 30, or 40; 0 is someone who goes around saying "lol, noob, I pwn you", 40 would be the professional RP'ers who are a great help to the server, I was at 20, someone who makes decent characters, but isn't anyone special according to their definition, of course, this isn't the main reason why I'm angry at them, all a high RP rating does is allow players to access PrC's, Subraces, and gives them bonus XP)
So here I am, getting ready to log in on your server again, I've read through all the rules and the introductions and stuff, and I have to say, this looks like a very fun server, with some good RP.
On to the introduction though of that smooth criminal, Frugeon Nightshadow: Frugeon Nightshadow is the character I was playing on the Arelith server, before he was perma-killed (he had a Mark of Destiny, every 6 minutes *one hour IG*, he recieved 20xp in addition to my RP rating, so 40xp per 6 minutes, but he is perma-killed on his 10th death, regardless if there is a cleric nearby to ressurect him or not) I found out exactly the type of character I enjoyed playing as (i've been trying to figure out exactly the type of player I am, and I figured it out on Arelith), and that would be the Assassin, someone who kills for money, takes up bounties on people, and is completelly merciless. Frugeon is a master with daggers and the shortbow, and even better at stealth and at working with traps, his preffered method of assassination is to set up a deadly electrical trap on someone's door while they're sleeping, and just wait.
(The history, below, may have some things that just can't be true, for instance, in Baldur's Gate, there may be one single thieves' guild that crushes all others that try to spring up, or something like that, but please, I don't have access to all of the material, so please bear with me, if you want, send me a message or post a reply telling me where things just can't be so, and I'll change the history it so that it works) (Also, if a DM doesn't want Frugeon to have this history, that's alright, I'll think of something else for him, I just like my characters to have a bit of a background to help me guide their RP)
He grew up in Baldur's Gate, recruited at the age of 3 by a thieves' guild where he learned some of his less murderous techniques, such as picking locks, setting traps, disarming traps, and how to remain unseen and unheard. However, about a month or so before he found himself in Cordor, the guards found out the exact location of the guild HQ, and the guild, being a bit of a nuisance to the guard in Baldur's Gate, suddenly found every member with a 500 gold bounty on their heads, with the leader having a 2000 gold bounty. Frugeon was one of the many people at the time that simply deserted, he fled to Amn, trying to hide there with the population, it was there he heard about the city of Cordor on the island, Arelith. The island being cut off from most of Faerun, he decided that was the best place to hide from the bounty hunters that he knew would enjoy the 500 gold his head would bring them.
(Now here is his experiences on the Arelith server, not just some crap I made up, some things below are changed from what really happened, for instance, once the bounty was put up to 7000 gold, a level 23 paladin/champion of torm and his high level sorceress friend came up and made Frugeon blow up, perma-killing him, but I'd like to play it as that never happened, it's just funner that way, I also didn't include Alven Logback, the other person who Frugeon hired to help him live through the events of that day)
He got to Cordor and blended in with the population fairly easilly. The island really was cut off from Faerun, not many had even heard of Baldur's Gate, aside from the other people who also came from Faerun (I'm really hoping right now that Faerun is the name of the continent, and not the name of the entire world, otherwise I'm just a noob  ), some of his better known accomplishments on the Island would be causing the death of a powerful Lich in the crypts, single-handedly killing a half-dragon sorcerer, killing a local gang of thugs called the Wharftown Boys (again, single-handedly), fighting and killing an adult white dragon, and battling the orcs and giants in their caves about a mile north of Cordor. He did all this in the course of the year he lived on the island (one day in RL=ten in game, and I played as him for a little over a month).
At the end of the year, he ran into trouble, a hin named Shade and a monk named Drebbin attacked him in the city, he easilly killed the two, and reported the incident to the guards, who decided to ressurect them to find out why they did it (Frugeon asked for this, actually, he wanted to know if they were assassins out to kill Frugeon), then the most unexpected thing happened, they accused Frugeon of attacking them first (this isn't the unexpected part, Frugeon did indeed attack them first, but only because he knew they were about to attack him, and said "Yes, I did, but they swung first, it's just I was quicker than them, and hit first, you see, I swung second, hit first, they swung first, hit second... and can someone heal me? That monk person gave me a black eye!" However, this didn't work very well, an unfortunate thing happened, the town criers were suddenly dieing, two so far had died that day, and the dockmaster was also dead. They said that they approached me because they saw Frugeon do it (even though he didn't, actually)
Somehow they managed to pull off the lie, and people believed them. Frugeon knew, at this point, that things would not end well for him, the guards were about to turn on Frugeon, arrest him, and, considering how much of a joke a trial is in Cordor, he ran from them and went into hiding in the Sewers, where he planned his next actions. It was clear that people would believe Shade and Drebbin about Frugeon killing the dockmaster and town criers, the town had a habit of blaming hin (halflings) for all their troubles, he decided that they would have to die first in order for things to work out right, if they died, and he managed to make it look like he didn't do it, all would be alright. Luckily enough, they both had a problem with drinking, he snuck into the Nomad, the local tavern and inn, and waited for them to go to sleep, while asleep, he went and set very powerful negative energy traps on each of their doors, the type of damage that negative energy deals wouldn't leave great big giant wounds or scorch marks like spike traps, fire traps, acid traps, or electric traps would, and once they died, he immediately grabbed the bodies, and, still being stealthy, stuffed the bodies in some crates behind the Nomad.
Unfortunatelly, it was too little, too late, there was now a bounty on Frugeon's head, 1000 gold, dead or alive. It wasn't in writing yet, but already there were two or three people off looking for him. The only guards who really knew what was going on was a paladin named Keliel, and a sorceress named Nina, they were the next two that needed to die. Staying very stealthy, especially around Nina, he ambushed the two while they were on their way to the Guard HQ, using his dagger, he managed to kill them both in the slums of Cordor, without anyone seeing nor caring, he then tossed their bodies into the ocean, and set off to go look for the bounty hunters.
(speeding things up now, I don't have much time on the computer right now, and need to do some schoolwork, so this next part will be very quick compared to what I wanted to write)
Frugeon then found out that the bounty hunters were off looking outside the city, and left them alone. He went and disguised himself, so that no one would recognize him as Frugeon. Unluckilly, he never was very good at that, and someone who had seen a picture of Frugeon, recognized him regardless of the disguise, and pointed him out to a nearby guard. The guard was another sorceress, but this one was much stronger than Nina, and even though Frugeon managed to avoid a few of her spells by sheer luck and a bit of skill, she eventually managed to kill him with a Bigby's spell. Next he found himself in a jail cell, ressurected by one of the guards, he was questioned on the locations of the four people he had killed, and he told them, rather reluctantly.
Then the most incredible thing happened (and this really did happen, I was seriously ROTFLMAO), they forgot to lock the cell door, as the guard walked off, Frugeon simply openned the door and snuck out of the jail. When they came back, they realized Frugeon was missing, and that another two guards were dead, these unfortunate people managed to spot Frugeon as he stealthilly crept out of the Jail. Regardless of the fact that Frugeon was not in custody nor around for the trial, he was still put on Trial, accused of Murder, resisting arrest, refusal to obey the guard's commands, and overall "Jackassery" (yes, I was indeed accused of Jackassery). The judge found him gulty, and he was sentenced to Exile just as he was sneaking out of the city gates (though he did not know he was exiled, I only knew in OOC, I just put that fact down for your knowledge).
He now found out that there was a 7000 gold bounty on his head, and decided (now we are branching off from what really happened into more crap I thought up) that Arelith was no longer safe for him, and he snuck back into Cordor, luckilly for him, a boat was leaving the island and headed back to the Sword Coast. Going into the ocean, and swimming to the docks, and climbing onto a boat, he stowed away off the island.
When he got to the mainland, though, he wanted to avoid the larger cities, and stick to the smaller ones. This is how he wound up in the Underdark, he was captured inbetween leaving the boat and headed to a small farming village by a drow raiding party, and made into a slave, though he escaped, and here he is now in Sanctuary.
Long post, I know, thanks for reading, tell me what you think.
