Letter to Michael Bresley [DM]

Michael Bresley,

As gossip often does, word of your safe return has reached my ear. I am pleased to know that you are alive and well, and let me be if not the first, then at least another, person to welcome you home.

Although I could not be there personally, I read the transcript of your speech. I had high hopes that you would follow in the footsteps of your father. I had high hopes that you would set this city back on the right path.

I do not believe the Sheriff is a man with bad intentions, but as you said so was Sheriff Dhogur. You say that you saw the putrid camp that your uncle spoke of - this is true. That is what Sanctuary has become since the assassination of your son.

Our city falls further and further into the abyss with each passing dark. I realize as you do the difficulties we face in trying to set things right, and if I am honest I must admit that my own will is often broken by the daunting task.

Yet, you are a Bresley. Would your father turn his back upon this city in its most dire moment of need? It was the dream that Sanctuary would become a beacon of hope among the darkness, a place for all who yearn to be free. Yet there is no freedom here, and there will never be freedom unless you fight for it.

I am not asking you to become Mayor. I am asking you to take a firm hand in helping set things right. The city has lost its way, and now, more than ever, you are needed to help set us back on the right path. Do not leave. Do not abandon what your family built.

Signed, Kedrick Reynolds

The only right path for this City anymore is Up, Mister Reynolds.

Thank you for your kind words.

Michael Bresley
