Information about Rat Pox
The disease that has been spread in Lower and the Canal Ward has been named Rat Pox, due to the thought that the Chosen are somehow behind it. It is rumoured to originate from a hydrolic shaft in Chosen territory, where the spring that runs through Lower and ends up in the lake comes from. For this very reason, and that the Chosen have struck Lower in recent times, it is commonly believed that the Chosen have poisoned the water in some way. The disease is spread through the water, presumedly by drinking it and afflicts those of weak constitution, it has not shown itself to be very threatening airborn yet. It is believed that boiling the water will prevent the disease from striking. The druids term the disease as aberrant and there has not been found a cure yet, as Rat Pox has shown itself to be resistant to both mundane and divine healing.
Those afflicted have large swellings on the arms and neck, secreting large amounts of pus, and the swellings are reported larger than any normal disease. In addition, the skin pales, a hacking cough evolves and flies are attracted to the diseased. It strikes the health of the individual but has not caused any casualities yet. Some of the afflicted are experiencing difficulties with walking and breathing.
