[A letter dropped off at the seeker hall for Fargus]

Scribbled

Got most of that information you were looking for.

  • The Chosen are driven moreso than in the past, from what has been learned speaking with locals. Many have lead me to believe that it is because of the lack of strength in the region, and the backlash from the Montezzi to the Goblin. Folks morale is low, and there are few defenders. Seems like an attack of opprotunity on behalf of the Rats

  • Ratpox, dubbed by the locals due to the reccent outbreak of attacks, May have nothing to do with rats at all. It is localized to the stream, and I was warned numerous times of venturing in or near the stream. Meanwhile, The Spider, a dead Montezzi guard, a dead beggar, and numerous other corpses lined the stream. Few lay near the pump house, and even near the "Portal to the Surface", and Wally's warehouse. The cause, most likely, I would say is the dead themselves.

  • Cure, The sick have been stuffed into a warehouse by an individual named Reynart and a group from what was told. The man seemed to act as if I should know who he was, so I will assume you do. It is believed by locals he is either seeking a cure, or is a spellguard agent wishing to burn them alive.

  • The goblin's band takes in willing recruits it seems, regardless of lifestyle. However a number of businesses are also attempting to form in lower, be they connected to him or not, Do not know. It should be stated however, that while Goblins are filthy little creatures, He does not seem like any imminent threat to anyone.

  • The Upper gates have been locked down until further notice, in hopes of preventing, allegedly, the plague from turning upward. Some locals feel it is infarct to keep those who wish to escape the plague out, claiming Spellguard wish them to die to the rats.

Nines,

Such a mention of the stream sparks some troubling suspicions that seem to fall into place as to the origin of the disease. I think after some word from my other sources will pinpoint the cause.
