You know those wires that assassins use in the movies to choke people to death? It'd be cool to have one of those IG. Perhaps make it so that if the victim wins a reflex save, he saves himself, but if he doesn't, he has to combat the attacker's strength roll every round, or suffer one point of damage. If he wins a roll, the choking immediatly ceases, and cannot be used again in that battle. (Perhaps make the wires only good for once a day.) The scripting of it might be tricky, but I think it'd be worth it.

It's called a garrotte. Drowning damage would be more appropriate, since you effectively doing the same thing by cutting off the victim's air supply.

2d6 damage or something would be much realistic. One point of damage is like spaming cause minor wounds over and over >_>

I believe there would be armor type modifiers that would have to be made. Reason... You cannot garrote a person in a suite of fullplate or those with certain helms, (i.e. tall spikes or horns, etc.), as you would not be able to get it over their head.

Extremely overpowered.

Consider any typically low strength class. They also have low hp. AND they typically rely on spell casting to deal with any would be gankers.

This is pretty much an instant kill against such classes.

I think what you're imagining is probably much cooler in theory than it would be in application.

I support this idea if it is placed in the module labeled as, "ASSASSIN WIRE CHOKING DEVICE!!!!!!!!".

It's not a bad idea, but it would either be never used or overpowered. For the amount of scripting involved and bug-testing, I think it's best left alone.

I saw it on ALFA once. One PC tried to strangle another with it and accidently clicked on himself, killing his assassin in the process.

You are right.

And as sweet as it sounds, it just seems way too powerful. Realism aside. Being able to sneak up and garrote someone is just not fun. Pretty sweet, but not much fun.
