Anybody else have some problems with 1.69? My game is lagging out like damn butts, even in single player.
Problems with the new patch
My toolset is working slower when editing areas which use the new tilesets, but other than that it's perfectly fine.
No problems here so far. New areas have more polygons and details, possibly larger texture size so that explains any new slowness with new areas.
Same here LTS, its not just us, FUarch has the same problem, and a few others. Heltec is trouble shooting for me, so if we have any success I will post the results here.
Speaking of which, Any updates, Roger? Who is jolly.
Shiver me timbers an' get me some rum. Its Jolly Roger.
There is no patch for the Spanish version yet, does that mean I can't update and can't play EFU?
There is a way to update with another language version, atleast a workaround. I am playing on a german version and when you download the english dialog.tlk file and replace yours with it you should be able to run the critical rebuild 1.69. Worked for me.
So with a search LTS it seems to be a global problem, cf: http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=640176&forum=49 I don't know if you are running a dual processor, but I suspect that is the problem if you are. Word on the street is the new patch isn't dealing with them properly. Which is probably all bad news...

Yuppers... duel core here... Might have to do the same workaround for the Toolset for the main game...
EDIT: If I can remember how to do it...
I had the same problem -- choppy graphics and that sort of thing. It turned out to be a dual core issue, and there was a fix I found...I just can't remember it at all. Have a search on Google though, that's how I found the fix IIRC.
This didnt work for me, but you might want to give it a try!
Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> To make the game run on only one CPU do the following: <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> 1) Shut down Neverwinter Nights. <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> 2) Browse to the folder where you installed Neverwinter Nights (where nwmain.exe resides). <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> 3) Find and open the file nwnplayer.ini. <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> 4) Look for the option "Client CPU Affinity" under the [Game Options] heading. If the option isn't there, then add it under the [Game Options] heading. <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> 5) Change the entry <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> Client CPU Affinity=-1 <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> to <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> Client CPU Affinity=0 <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> 6) Save the changes. <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> 7) Start up Neverwinter Nights. <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> The issue should now be fixed. <Naga-> [03:55] <Caddies> I think that was it
I cannot read, but fortunately TBR can, and so I have the answer, at least it fixed mine. Might not work for people with different specs.
I went into the NVIDIA control panel; then into Manage 3d settings; then into the Program Settings tab: then changed the threaded optimization to off for nwn.
Hey presto, it runs like a charm, even at top graphics settings.

If TLK is replaced, there shouldn't technically be any chance of the game still being Spanish in my opinion, as all the translations are in the TLK.
In the toolset you can't create some of the new creatures, that's the only problem I've noticed, but the new tilesets look AMAZING! I'm a tilesets lover and I didn't know these existed.
Right. Turned out I've been having the Client CPU Affinity set to zero all along, so that didn't help me. I do run from a dual-core though, and I've been trying to do what Roger did with his vid-card, but I can't, since I am teh nub.
And untill then, I can't play. <_< If any misses me IG, you now know what the problem is.
Aw man. ):
Mort Desktop > Properties > Parameters TAB > Click on "Advanced" > Gefore 8800 GTS (or whichever card you have) and then click on nVidia Control panel (You will need to install this if you dont have it!).THEN;
3D Settings: Manage 3D Settings. At #1 box, select nwn.exe or nwmain.exe depending on which one you use. At #2, scroll down until you see "threaded optimization" And put it on OFF.
Cheers!
Mort The nvidia control panel?http://www.nvidia.com/object/performance_group.html
You should normally have it. If you mean you dont have the threaded optimization option.. Look carefully, It isnt in alphabetical order I believe. Can you give me the model of your video card?
I quote myself, ain't I original?
I can't even run NWN anymore it crashes the moment I try and run it now :(
If you're running Vista, that's because you're likely not running it from the nwmain.exe file in your NWN directory. Any shortcuts, e.g. those in the Start Menu, don't work.

Thanks for the heads up on that! I have a new duel core system coming, and I would have been very very upset to have NWN not run right. Even more so since I am upgrading to an BFG GeForce 9800 GTX OCX video card! Maybe next month I will get a second one since both the new mobo and video cards are SLI based! WOOT!
But again thanks... going to bookmark this so I can come back and set it if I have too.
A few things if you're having problems.
1) If you are getting Candy Striped Textures, there is a fix on the NW Vault.
2) If you are getting pure white textures, and using an NVidia card, roll back your drivers.
3) If you're getting choppy and have dual-core, there is a new function to run on one core that seems to help some people irc.
4) If you can't see the new creatures, empty your override folder
Well. I got fixed, the lag and framerate problems were related to my drivers being absolute crap. I just needed to get updated, which is a pain on Vista, if you have an ATI Mobility.
Anyhow, that fixed it for me. Just letting folk know.
