The Manifesto of the Orphans of SanctuaryThe life of a man is quite meaningless, when his actions are not led by a greater purpose than his own life in and by itself. That we, humanoids, are capable of thinking on our own and making our own choices is the greatest blessing given to us by the gods who created us and that which makes us all sacred and sets us apart.
But there are those few - who pull many by their strings - who would take that away from us. Our principles, our honesty, our customs, our tradition, our ideas, our very minds and souls, to their own purposes. Some of them are great men, who wish to make this world a better one. That does not change their nature, however.
Those men, many of them, have taken to positions of power and have remained in them for over a century, in this which was once meant to be a haven of freedom of justice in a land of darkness. At their behest, monstrous machines and men can be thrown against the common man - and specially - those who stand our on their own. While they may have good intentions, or appear to be so, their true nature points only to the way it has went for the last century: ultimate control - and with that, the corruption that inevitably comes upon those who are never questioned, who never see change.
This cannot be allowed to be. Not anymore. They may kill us all - as they have to my own blood - but then, if we allow things to remain as they are, where does that matter? We will already be dead, in life. We are already orphans in minds and hearts, in blood and body. We have nothing to lose but our own lives and shackles - and we will throw those away if we need to, so that those who come after us have something to lose in their lives, something to care for.
We were the ones to give them the power they enjoy now. And it will be us who will take that away from them. That, however, will take resources and proper tactics, it will require secrecy and, at last but not least, it will require us to know who they are, why they are and what they have done. Once we know that - they will be on the palm of our hands. That is our purpose. To learn. To gather. To know. And that is what we will do. Knowledge will make us equal, and it will set us apart. It will be our mean of offense, and what will keep us alive.
Sanctuary, arise! Heed the call of the brethren, the blood and flesh of those who have fought and died so we wouldn't have to - and know that live can be lived to the fullest when those who we have put our trust into and betrayed us in the end cease to be, by our hands and free thinking minds.
The Orphan's Archive and Notebook
The Spellguard - Lost their founding vision. Now became paranoid people who do not hesitate to murder on whim and baseless claims. They have made him...slaughter children. That cannot be right. They have endangered Sanctuary many times to meet their own ambitions for power and complete and utter security. Need more info on methods, members, hierarchy, actual cases. A way to better and more subtly deal with their members than the Seekers.
The Seekers - Can be useful. Known to be the single voice to speak against the corruption in the Watch, Council and Spellguard. They resort to dangerous tactics and reckless actions at times, but they at least have not had children killed to my knowledge. One should be careful around them, at very least - but less than with the Spellguard. Need more info on methods, members, hierarchy. A way to neutralize those vain hopes of "escape". Some way to make them less noisy and more efficient.
The Watch - Need more info. Basically up to influence from either the Seekers or the Spellguard. Azzam rules supreme in Sanctuary, but he seems to lack an ideology of his own. There should be some dirt on him. Dig it up. Should give reach to get to Spellguard + Council Corruption.
