More newbie quests

Hi, I started playing EfU about 3 weeks ago, and since then, two of the repeatable newbie quests have been removed due to NPC deaths and in-game events (Spellguard letter and Animatron Parts) Are these likely to be fixed/removed/replaced any time soon? As it is you can start bu never finish the delivery, and you can collect a ton of useless parts.

EDIT: I thought is was the rat quest that was removed. I was wrong. I meant the animatron parts.

Ah yes, the delivery quests.

More plz.

I should also point out that you can still get the message to deliver to the Spellguard Tower from the Clerk. However, due to there being no agents that you can get to you can't deliver the message.

There are more lowbie quests in the module than I can even count at the moment, but suffice to say that if you went around the module and did them all, you'd be busy for quite a few hours.

Lower is FULL of them. They're friggen everywhere.

YEAH

I mean the DELIVERY quests, the ones that don't require you to smash something.

There are heaps.

9lives There are heaps.

QFT!

Not that many Fedexes though. Are they all in obscure back-alleys of Lower, because I can't think of a single one from there.

It's very easy for an armoured char to level to 4 in a couple of hours, but much harder for a mage. They really need a team or several levels for spell slots to be effective, and it makes the good-paying single player quests like Salvage Pit, Bug Hunt and Basement Junk Monster take a long time, or be impossible because I thought the DMs frowned on resting mid-quest then returning.

I like the single-player newbie quests as they let you get to L3/L4 quickly so you've got a lot of popular team quests opened up.

Wizard is not very difficult to effortlessly fly up to 5 doing all those solo quests! But the key to playing a wizard in such situations is more player experience with the class itself. I know I've done all of the quests you listed except for bug hunt as a level 2-3 wizard anyway.

There are quite a few deliveries out there, some more obscure than others!

As I understand based on this conversation the quests to deliver something still exist, but can't be completed?

If this is still the case, I would recommend either removing them or changing them, as such dead end quests just serve no purpose other than confuse/frustrate possible new players and seem like incomplete game design.

Yes. The letter to Barkely cannot be completed, and the quest he used to give is gone too. As for the animatron parts, some Spellguard players have taken to buying these themselves, which is good RP but a bit of a bodge.

It's rather annoying because Barkely's quest was an easy repeatable way for new chars to get some minor healing.

I don't really think you need to redo all of the delivery quests. You can pretty much do a solo smashing quest, and the delivery quests without the server resetting, and get up to level 3. That is what its all about imo. :)

Maybe not a redo, or even adding if quite as many are in lower as are suggested. Still if a quest's goal is removed from the server, the quest should be removed as well or at least updated.

Just out of interest it is possible to solo a wizard to level five. You can get to six solo if you are really persistent. Not saying there shouldn't be more fed-ex, just that the other solo quests are very doable with some thought.

That's the purpose of the Escape from the Underdark: Single Player Campaign, yes.

No, it's the purpose of the "EfU: Damnit Nobody Low Level's Around, How the Hell do I Get This Guy to a Useful Point And Get Some Cash Campaign".

I like the SP quests. You can do them if you get killed and need the XP/gold, when you're waiting for a planned event, or when you just can't get anyone suitable for a team quest. They get you into the game, or back into the game.

Also, I've got a "subs bench" of a few chars I've raised to 4 solo so if my main's perma-killed I can grab a char who's ready to do some team quests, but is free to develop as a personality and doesn't need to worry about remembeing who he adventured with.

I just rolled a wizard to test this.

I got to level 3 in just under an hour playing a lonely wizard. I could probably do it in 40m, if I changed the order of some of the quests.

I have no argument about amount of working quests (I have not inspected them in months), my only suggestion is that dead end quests should be either removed or changed. Its misleading to have them on, if they are impossible to complete.

I have perfected a method of getting to 3 within 20 minutes as any class. There is seriously no problems with leveling up if you use your wits.

Any quest that can't be finished is a bug and should certainly be removed, and if we don't get to it please report it in the bug reports forum.

It goes without saying that having a confusing quest that has no way of solving it is bad.

As I have not tried these personally, could someone who has report the quests that can't be completed to the Bug forum?
