Pick Pockets

Please remove PP from the radial menu, if possible.

I accidently hit PP on a merchants radial menu while trying to access my own radial menu, and killed the poor man by accident (in one unarmed hit to my suprise)... luckily no guards were around to compound the problem.

Can you remove those things from the radial menu at all? I've never seen it happen.

No, can't be done without a .hak. It's hard coded.

Is there anything else that can be done?

Perhaps make the PP check for being noticed at the standard skill level, but the PP chance for getting anything at the modified skill level?

That way if somebody does accidently PP somebody, they won't succeed, but they stand a good chance of evading notice...

Not that I can think of. If you suceed and don't want to suceed, it's very difficult to do return items effectively. It's best just saying "be more careful".

Fish's idea is good because it lets guards check a player's "papers" to see who they are. Like carrying ID.

Wrong topic oro? :-/

According to the skill Description:

There are two parts to successfully picking a pocket. First the item must be acquired, and then the targeted creature must not notice the theft. Stealing the item is a simple skill test against the target’s difficulty class. The base DC for a neutral or tolerant creature is 20, and 30 for a hostile creature. This roll is modified by armor check penalties. The targeted creature then makes an opposed Spot check against the character’s Pick Pocket check. Hostile creatures have a +10 bonus to their Spot checks in this test. If the targeted creature succeeds at this opposed check, then the target has detected the theft attempt. An NPC who detects the attempt will turn hostile, and a PC will be informed that the character has attempted to use Pick Pocket on him. If the character is successful at both checks, then he steals the item without being detected.

I guess what I am suggesting is making the skill check for success at the -50 that is the default on EFU, but making the notice check at the 'real' skill level. That way, you will never successfully steal anything... but you probably won't be noticed either.

Please note, I am suggesting this only because it is appearantly impossible to remove the totally worthless PP option from the radial menu.

This isn't possible, as far as I am aware.

It's not, no.
