IS there anyway to sound proof the Grotto meeting rooms so peopel standing outside a closed door are unabel to hear what is being said inside?

The way "closed" rooms work in NWN, is that the first 60 seconds or so, you can still hear stuff outside them. After a certain period of time passes, you can't hear what's typed/inside them. Not sure why it works that way, but it does. Trust me, I have to make sure nobody outside my room hears my cyb0r.

Hint. Use whisper if you don't want people to hear you.

LOL- yes I use whisper a lot - but when you have 4 or 5 people in the large room at the back of the Grotto - whispering doesn't quite cut it distance wise.

Post somebody outside to make eavesdroppers leave. I don't really see a problem with the way it is; people having a loud meeting in a room like that are susceptible to eavesdropping if they don't take proper precautions.

If a group's speaking in hushed voices behind a closed door and is out of whisper range, I don't mind using party chat if everyone's OK with it being used for IC reasons.

I do. Using party chat to communicate IC like that isn't a good idea, there may well be an invisible stealthed halfling under the table after all.

Allowable exceptions include such as having to rapidly talk when divided by a transition (Or, trap door-ladder, with one person below, and one on top), though, right? Or is that prohibited as well?

Whispering is probabally one of the coolest and most awesome RP tools in NWN.
