Druids, Councillor. My name is Egon Rosenqvist, also known as "Balladeer". I am a Bard by trade, a small servant of the goddess Lurue by calling, and a scholar of alchemy and plantlore.

You have likely met me recently, when you prepared to do battle with some evil of the Underdark, as Kainth informed me. I had visited your sand caves to establish a crop of Fragrant Fungus there, both for my own use as a reagent, and to propagate a fungus of which I could find but one cluster near the Goblin settlement, and appeared at risk of being lost to this area.

As you can see, we share an respect for the life of these caverns, and I believe we could be of use to each other's goals. I seek to study the uses of all common plants of the Underdark, but as yet I have established only combative uses, not healing ones. Healing knowledge would help fulfil my calling to offer aid to the injured I encounter. In exchange, I would be happy to some tuition in the production of alchemical weaponry from the herbs I know of, to scribe a text, ballad or other work on respect for nature and the bounty of plants, or any other appropriate use of my skills.

Druidess Sabah is the most capable of helping you with what you seek, however she has a demonstrated desire for people to discover the secrets of herbalism and alchemy for themselves.

Should you wish to seek out a meeting with her regardless - as there is doubtless a great deal she could teach you - such a meeting is easily arranged.

The current stumbling block to my research is that I simply do not know which plants and substances are worth investigating as reagents. For example, without a text I encountered in Lower, I would never have considered using Stinkweed in one mixture. Some guidance into the properties of plants would allow me to better focus the direction of my studies and determine useful mixtures empirically.

After recognizing the name on the letter, Kainth rushes into Book Store meeting with the Scrivener, the man that has served illeterate barbarians all these precious years. The Scrivener, then, proceeds to dictate the letter and write the following response which Kainth promptly and swiftly drops at the Crone for Egon Rosenqvist

To Egon Rosenqvist,

My client, Kainth Iltazyara of the Council, speaks that you should probably meet with the Witch-Sister Sabah. She is one of great knowledge when it comes to plant-life, concoctions and such. Her garden contains most, if not all, various sorts of plant-life in the Underdark.

On an unrelated subject, Councilor Iltazyara would like to meet you, Egon Rosenqvist, in order to retell the tale of the late Lich-King Mardukan and the Slaadi plague, the tale of the Isle of Decadence and the Drow of the Mask and all these interesting adventures that Kainth has lived in his past with those living within the City.

He would pay greatly for such!
