Charter: The Seeker Organization

I. Historical Background: On the Eighth of Alutirak, in the Sixth year of our Sanctuary, Mayor Charles Bresley wrote that were there were once dozens of refugees there are now hundreds of citizens; where there were once camps and ruined buildings, there are now streets and homes; where there was a handful of loyal protectors guarding against the dark, there are now orders able to provide us safety from dangers within and without; henceforth there shall be three agencies which shall ensure our defense, working in concord and harmony to undertake a task that is larger than any one man and larger than any one order. As such, the Seekers shall lead the forward defense, seeking out new resources, identifying the threats and dangers that surround us, and taking proactive action against these threats as needed. The Seekers are returning to this original ideology as was outlined by Mayor Charles Bresley himself.

II. Mission & Priorities: Historically, the Seekers were chartered by Mayor Bresley himself to be responsible for leading the forward defense for the protection of Sanctuary. More recently, the Seekers have identified and mitigated internal threats posed to Sanctuary. As such, the following are main mission priorities for the Seekers: a. Conduct clandestine missions within the Underdark to identify, exploit, and mitigate threats posed to Sanctuary interests. b. Collect and disseminate threat information to the Council and Sanctuary’s defense agencies. c. Professionally and objectively investigate allegations of tyranny and corruption and provide results to the suitable law enforcement and/or council representatives for action. d. Conduct operations in support of finding the Way of the Ascension.

III. Responsibilities: As a recognized member of Sanctuary’s defense agencies, the Seekers will assign a representative to the established defense working group with the Watch & Spellguard. The threat working group will serve as a means of sharing threat information with the other defense agencies, as well as serve as a means of collaboration to insure cohesiveness between agencies toward successful operations. Additionally, the Seekers will assign an emissary to the council to specifically be available to communicate sensitive matters that could affect security and stability of Sanctuary. This emissary will present Seeker obtained information upon request to the council, as well as present Seeker metrics to the council to relay successes official funding has provided to Seeker operations. All seeker files are to be made available to the council without necessity of request from the emissary.

IV. Logistics: To maximize the effectiveness of the Seekers in their responsibilities, suitable funding will need to be provided. The Seekers will be provided the former Seeker Hall in upper as a base for their operations as well as a focal point for Sanctuary’s citizens and government officials to find a Seeker. Moreover, the council will provide funding to the Seeker organization as they feel suitable for the security and protection of Sanctuary.

V. Leadership & Structure: The acting Chairman reserves the right to appoint a leader to the seeker organization. In the absence of a Chair, the right will go to the Sheriff of the Watch. The Sanctuary Council will be presented by the Seekers with a number of candidates who are experienced in Seeker operations to be officially appointed by the Council as the leader of Seekers. This appointee will have the responsibility of discuss strategic Seeker interests with the council in support of the protection of Sanctuary. The Council reserves the right to revoke leadership at any time should the terms set forth in this guideline be breached.

Seekers,

Please handle this as soon as possible and open up your files for council oversight. Thank you.
