My weapon doesn't damage the Chosen. Every time I hit one it says I can't hurt it. Bug?

When I re-made Hilinar Tord he did NOT start at level 11, or with a Stonefire Axe +1, and he started with 14 CHA INSTEAD of 6.

On a server I used to play on you could set yourself to hostile, equip a weapon and attempt to kill yourself. I have never played the solo game past the first chapter so I'm not sure if it was a server thing or what. Is this a bug? Its really important because my character's god demands that he kill himself lots. Its really neded for the concept I'm going for.
